i didnt even put money on this fight....roy jones got took out in 1!!!!!!....wow!!!!!......the man was completely washed up.....really roy? this really makes jeff lacy quite pathetic in hindsight (losing convincingly to jermain taylor and roy and couldn't even knock peter manfredo jr the fuck out like everyone worth noting had been doing)...the only thing that would surprise me more is if bernard gets stopped tonight...my head will explode if that happens

Ive been telling folks. People were using the excuse of him going up and down in weight being the issue.. It may have played a role because he was drained (especially coming back down) but dude has a fucking glass jaw period...:smh:

Tarver was strictly him being a dumbass and losing 25 lbs of muscle. Your the champ...people need to chase you.

He was that fast in his prime...what happens is that if your game is strictly based on speed...you lose 25% of that super speed...you get touched.

I don't think B could take him even now. Green, like Johnson and Tarver, came right at him and that's not Hopkins style. I feel an old, shot Roy Jones Jr. is still a matchup problem for an old, (probably shot too) Bernard Hopkins. Why the fuck he's fighting a younger, bigger guy is beyond me anyway.

Come on e, that shit was a eyes-closed-hail-mary that Roy didn't see coming. God owed Antonio one and paid him back with that punch. Now the Johnson knockout was legit but he shouldn't have even been in the ring so soon.

B-Hop has not shown that he is even remotely shot. He may be old, but he definitely hasnt shown that he is shot. I agree with what you are saying in terms of STYLE though. But I think that B-Hop would wear RJJ down and just outclass him. Jones is done...he hasnt won a meaningful fight in 8 years. At this point B-Hop is a MUCH better fighter than RJJ.

B-hop is not really a KO guy so I didnt mean KOing him.. I just think he would completely outbox Jones at this point and win by UD.

Jones is killing his legacy now.. he has nothing more to Prove.. and now he is risking serious injury

I know Tarver caught him with a wild haymaker (and tarver even had his eyes closed :lol:).. but Im talking more about being able to recover. RJJ is OUT when he takes that shot. I mean..he was out before he hit the canvas. Im just saying that he doesnt have a real chin where he can take a shot, shake it off, and recover. I dont think he took a massive shot in this Green fight... but although he got up...even a minute later he legs were still completely gone.... we never really knew because he was too damn supermutant fast to git hit a lot clean.

I hope his retires...clearly an all-time great but he is holding on way too long... his body is betraying him right now and he is going to take a real monster shot one of these days and end up fucked up. Someone needs to make him hang it up

As long as Roy didn't let B grapple him to death, I don't think he would lose to Hopkins. B-Hop still doesn't throw enough punches to win rounds against a more active fighter (in the case of Roy, a seemingly more active fighter). But point taken. The Pavlik fight was a disguised exhibition that Kelly was foolish enough to fall into. If someone was to draw up a more perfect opponent for Hopkins to look good against, they'd be hard pressed to pick a better guy.

I've said this about him and Evander Holyfield: the instant they stop fighting, people will start remembering how great they were. But each bad loss or even uninspired win against lesser comp, just denigrates their legacies.
