Just because Marc's producer reached out to.you doesn't mean Marc actually folkowed your videos/content or "knew" you. They might have seen your view count and guest list and decided it was worth a shot.
But even IF he did follow Anton's content, that still doesn't mean Marc "knows" him, he knows "of" him.

If you don't take Marc to be a purposely lying, that's a worse look. You were brought to his attention and you weren't memorable enough for Marc to remember who you are. Bringing it up is embarrassing. Instead of focusing on your pod being brought on one of the biggest platforms and building positively off the momentum, you are either letting your ego get in the way or you just want clicks in hopes of a back and fourth.
Brian McKnight was just as dumb. In one breath you acted as though you were bearly aware of who Marc is, yet you've seen him get his ass handed to him multiple times.
Based on the information known to the public, being called an ass hole is getting off lite. Even if there was any truth in what you were saying regarding your kids, renaming your new son after you when you already had a Jr makes people believe their version of events. To each his own, but I also believe it was reported his kid ( grown i believe) died and he didn't attend the funeral. Not an issue if it is known that you don't attend funerals in general. However, add to your brother having an issue with you over it says this isn't likely to be the case. Its easy to say people want money or a lifestyle. You can also be a dick regardless of that fact.

Are pods dying off due to not being able to generate revenue? Id imagine the overhead isn't much. Assuming you are hands on with preprod and post yourself to start.
For me, Need to know followed JBN topics to closely. I know all pods talk about the same topics but it felt worse with them. I didn't watch enough but maybe they shouldn't have discussed music to attempt to separate themselves from the JPB. Savon worked for HBO. Maybe they should have focused on TV/movies more to distinguish themselves more.

I don't think overhead is the problem
The Time : Revenue ratio may be the bigger issue.
There was period of time where JBP wasn't really generating that much money, think after the spotify deal (mainly u tube money) and no advertisers or patreon.
But Joe had a nice size SM following and possibly a slight reserve of Spotify money.
So he could bankroll the pod for a year because there was light at the end of the tunnel, "Spotify was willing to pay, maybe someone else will."
But then Patreon happened, and the $$ really came in.
It astounds me that a pod THIS popular in its category; 1) doesn't have extensive merch and 2) hasn't done a tour in 5+ years (covid notwithstanding)....
But Joe had a nice size SM following and possibly a slight reserve of Spotify money.

I think they never really "took off" on SM/ u tube, Patreon numbers were probably ok, probaly no merch, no tour.
Joe used to say doing JBP and Patreon was 10+ hrs.
A 2.5-3 hrs pod was over 4 hrs, take a break, then have to do another 2.5 - 3 hrs for patreon. So when the main pod episodes were 4 hrs, i can only imagine how long that day is. And all those BTS people need to be paid as well
It's been 7 years of the pod for Savon and Alex. Yea they produce for other pod but I would hope there's someone(s) else that's producing their pod in real-time. So the time it takes to edit, clip, upload/ promote their pod vs the return $$ may not be worth it anymore.

I think it's more so a lot of fans need lives and have too much entitlement.
It's an entertainment pod. It's not that important. Not everything needs to be critiqued and analyzed. What's Brad Pitt doing right now? Nobody gives a fuck as long as he gives us good movies.
Most importantly, it's free. A lot of people are complaining about and analyzing free shit.
Go to that Reddit, imagine if some sports fans were analyzing every move and everything Lamar Jackson or Kevin Durant are doing. That shit is strange. It's some shit I expect of Rihanna or Taylor Swift fans.

A lot of new/recent podcasts are looking for instant gratification and that's just not the way podcasting works. They assume that their following from other platforms will carry over and turn into money, but it's literally building from scratch and playing to another platform's algorithm. Sure having some notoriety will give you an initial leg up but fanbases in the podcast spaces are built on consistency and longevity. Most podcasts don't start seeing real money until around episode 500-600 and beyond. A lot of these people don't even make it to episode 50. And yea overhead counts; if you don't own the space you're paying for studio rental time, you're paying videographers or the studio to film, likely an audio engineer to make sure the audio is good and recording that. Then you're paying editors; cause you need a video edit and an audio edit, more angles mean longer edits. Not only does the main show need to be edited, it has to be clipped up into social media bites. There also needs to be a budget for ad spend to get clips in front of unreached audiences.
So if you're doing this for money and you're starting with no income, it's a money pit until it starts turning a profit, which again could take hundreds of episodes before it makes something helpful. But if you do the shit for the love of doing it, you're not stressing most of that, you'll film wherever's free and not really worry about how shit looks. People tune in cause you're having fun and over time they grow with you and the podcast and it'll snowball organically. A lot of people won't stick it out that long.
