Jay-Z x Kanye West- Otis

A 3minute song with the first minute being a straight sample and intro. I have a problem with that.

I like the song though and Ye shitted on Hov.

Dopeness, as expected.

wow yall like it when so Ross names checks rappers, and Khaled's beat all sound the same and Drake is still heart sick, odd future just jacking Eminem,Esham and GraveDiggers...

:smh:
but THIS aint tuff?????

Just because you don't agree, doesn't make you right...

The majority in this thread like it.

this is why sampling has to be back in hiphop. dope
Shit was overkill though dog. Its like they literally just played a Otis Redding track and started rapping over it. The shit played for one minute before the threw a verse over it. A bit ridiculous in my opinion. Made worse by Jay yelling "it so soulful". Like, yea muhfucka i guess so, you rapping over an actual "soul" album. Thats like saying rain is so wet.

Not only is the sample overshadowing the words, the words aren't worth listening to. Its nice to see that Jay fail at the back and forth.

i feel ya. i like it tho

on first listen. beat was boring and overpowered the lyrics. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............

C/S That shit was too basic. Why waste expensive ass sample money on that if that is what you are going to do with it? The verses aren't even dope either, but that shit doesn't matter much these days.

:smh:

This must be early in the process cause it doesn't even sound mastered yet and the way it ended was goofy as hell. I expect Ye to get his team of ghost producers and instrumentalists to spice that up... otherwise just leave it off the album.

I hope they didn't leak this on purpose.

Some of yall are way too hard to please...

This track is straight fire. I doubt it makes the cut because of how short the song is, how it stops abruptly (could be an unfinished version) and the fact that it has no hook, but if this is a sign of things to come then this is just an appetizer before the main course.

I guess you can't please everybody all the time:smh::smh::smh:

I wasn't too impressed when I first heard it too, because I was just listening to it on my laptop. Thankfully I downloaded it and played it back on my surround sound....Once I heard that down-tuned 808?......Lovin' this shit!!!! ".......Photoshoot fresh, lookin' like wealth....I'm 'bout to call paparazzi on myself........"

I fucks with both of them. Lyrics was decent....but im not really feeling the beat for some reason. Seems like its lacking something....like a actual beat.

Kanye shouldn't even take credit for the production on this one, all he added was a little 808 to emphasize the bass and the drum in the sample loop.
