Jay-Z x Kanye West- Otis

Dope. that back and forth on a beat like this is crazy. that's all i need really.

I've been listening to "Looking for the perfect beat", Cold Crush "fresh, fly, wild, bold" and Brand Nubians "Feels so good" for the last couple days so I'm inclined toward the intricate mic passing between MCs.

Average lyrics, not saying anything different or mind blowing.

The sample could've been flipped better.

Is this really the best mainstream hip hop has to offer? :smh:

Compare this back and forth style to 'Brooklyn's Finest' and the difference in quality in shocking.

Sample is flipped better. The metaphors are just crazy and their flow is crazy. And this was 15years ago. :smh:

c/s the whole production felt wack to me like the lyrics didn't fit the beat or something. Someone said earlier that this might be a throw away track, I hoping that is the case.

This shit is ILL classic hip hop format. Rhyme over a sample with all its rawness. A very early 90'sh late 80's feel to it.

Can I get a MP3

shits tough!

 any time there's a jigga or kanye thread with new music you can always expect the same mix of responses; people that think it's dope and people who say it's wack or unimpressive BECAUSE it's not some ground breaking mind blowing shit that will change their lives.

cool track btw, I don't think I'd call it heat but it's straight

Both had ill verses, Hov went in the nigga said " Photo shoot fresh, looking like wealth, I'm about to call paparazzi on my self, I love when jay get cocky on your bitch asses hating, this song is fucking DOPE, can't stop playing it, people need to stop trying to be different with all that hating bull shit GTFOH:angry::angry::angry::angry:

i'm not impressed with much new music nowadays (except KRIT) :dunno:

an yeah Sampson you ain't lying, that brooklyn's finest was on some next level shit... hell Love the dough was the same way

did want to say Yeezy went off though

People expect more cause Kanye is considered one of the best producers and Jay is considered the GOAT by many people. Then we get a beat that is basically Otis fucking around vocally before he breaks it down... Not even a real ill loop or some ill chop work. Then the verses sound like throw away shit. We have heard both cats go harder on freestyles.

call me crazy, but I just find those comments a bit ironic from a board that posts comment after comment with the  smiley when ever it's a rawse or wayne thread and even gucci and 50 sometimes, but turn their nose up for these 2 cats like their taste in music is so discriminating.

You can't be serious... you can't listen to these cats and say "ehh I'm unimpressed, I expected more" and then click back over to your itunes and play some weezy like it's the hardest shit in the game right now

Pusha T wrote that for Kanye...its very apparent

I've been saying that for a while now. pusha has to be caking, he's been doing most of kanye's writing for a couple months now

every version available to DL is sped up like 5x fast.

Jay sounds like a chimpmunk.

Does anyone have the original?

I just heard this on the radio and this shit is crazy. I love it up until the very end where it gets a little goofy but that's Ye, always doing too much and turning a 10 into a 9.

Kanye is no Biggie.

Ye and Jay are in different aspects of their lives and careers than Jay and Big were at that time. It's like Eddie Murphy can't do "Raw" or Axel Foley anymore because he's not in that zone anymore, same with Jay.

Don't compare it to anything else. Don't overanalyze it, looking for flaws. On first listen, is it hot or not?

Of course Kanye is no Biggie. No one ever will be.

My point is I've heard people hyping up this album and none of the tracks I've heard yet have made me go  .

The beat is hot garbage like it was made in the basement. Anyone could've used the sample the way they did with ease. It wasn't flipped with much skill.

The lyrics are trash. I made the comparison to show how much Jay has fallen off lyrically. As well as the quality of hiphop.

I'm not expecting Kanye to be as lyrical as Biggie and I don't expect Jay to spit like he did in 1996. I'm showing the vast difference in quality and skill.

A good portion of this board comes in a music topic to dislike a song, instead of to like a song. It's rather obvious.
