The remake was already under way because of 25th anniversary of the song, the earth quake was only a coincidence.

What's the benefit of hopping on the Haiti bandwaggon? Niggas from Haiti gonna go out and buy their albums or some shit? And whether the remake is garbage or not I don't know. I mean I don't know how to feel about it. It sounds similar to the original to me so I guess someone would have to tell me how one can be brilliant and how the other is garbage. I didn't make up the fact that they rushed that song out. You can check the producers in interviews talking about it. Why the need to rush it out? To get on the "bandwagon" that was the hot topic of Haiti's tragedy all over the media. If the project was already underway, they definitely exploited Haiti to get a boost.
I don't understand this aspect of it. The song's proceeds to go the Haiti fund. Shouldn't we get money out there as soon as possible while it still on peoples minds? Remember how "american" we were after 9/11? Now 9 years later you don't hear anyone speak on that shit until 9/11 comes. Americans are fickle and we're a "hop on the bandwaggon" society. That's reason for rush.
