Jay "Mr. Real Estate" Morrison claims discrimination at Houstons in the ATL ( video )

In this entire situation, if what you chose to harp 'em is Jay Morrison ...

...then I have to question if you're black. Is he grandstanding a little? Guess what? I don't give a fuck. Why? Because what drove him to possibly grand-standing, TO ME, is the INFINITELY greater sin.

Period.

Its like people who are more offended by people kneeling than by the reason they're kneeling.

It tells us a lot about you.

W

Look Short bus, the discrimination was in the way management decided to resolve the conflict... for example , cop pulls up and you and the white boy take off running, you'll probably get shot in the back while the white boy gets scooped up and taken to burger king... you and the white boy have a disagreement with the hostess at Houston's, the manager tells you to leave but finds out how he can accommodate the cracka.
look, shorter bus, if you're management and when you walk up, the customers are waving hands and yelling at your hostess and you KNOW your hostess, you deal with it accordingly.

I guess what makes it stupider to me is that Ive actually been to that place quite a few times and it's so overwhelmingly Black , I'm positive that the difference is HIM. Restaurants have issues with customers all the time, watching how he dealt with it affirms it.

And the fact that even the people who support him are making comments like "I love that place"-- it just doesn't add up that he got handled that way because he was Black.

Come to think of it, I've been to that place with large parties before without prior confirmation and we got seated. The circumstance at the time he got there had more to do with it.

yep, I would leave quickly and I wouldn't choose eat there again...
Lol right. Simple. I've had issues with seating at a Black owned restaurant too. Haven't been back. Clearly it wasn't as race issue, but I thought the damn host was stupid about the way she handled it.

Good point Fam!

I agree in not giving them my money but I still think we should call them on their shit and get other black folks to skip these types of businesses.

That's a pretty butthole.

? 0 post: 18301607, member: 7183"]-nothing on that video shows racism -what you see there is a professional hostess and a nervous kid citing company policy

-what makes you think that a white group wouldn't have been asked to leave?
While dining or waiting to get a table I've witnessed many cacs get shown the door in NYC /NJ / Conn / LI restaurants that accept reservations, if they showed up with a group on a busy afternoon or evening.
So I can't assume that a white group would have been seated at the time that vid was recorded.[/QUOTE]
Sure my man
Never been and don't like eating in most Atl joints for the fake ass wanna be ballers. Shits over rated
You should concentrate more on yourself and not the wanna be ballers.... wait, are you make or female?

You should concentrate on your ignorance. You probably one of the fake ballers. Ask your girl what I am, btw fuck you. Ask that

A group of seven went for a birthday celebration unbeknownst to us that Houston's(some location in the video) only has booths and could not seat us together. We were discussing our options on other restaurants when THEY APPROACHED US and suggested we sit in two tables next to each other. This was during a wait as well. Another time we went there (same location) my girlfriend surprised us with an extra guest and they allowed us to sit in the booth even though we had too many people for it. Both incidents, all of us were black.

This looks like its going to end up being another Pyrrhic victory. I've never eaten at Houston's and I've lived in Atlanta over 20 years. Too many spots to give this kind of energy to a damn empty steakhouse. Personally, I go out of my way to support our grassroots businesses, being that I'm blessed to be surrounded by so many of them. Pascals isn't a stone's throw from where he was. Life isn't this complicated.

well I would never order rare steak or steak for that matter..

nevertheless

thats a little different, I was referring to complaining about the taste and wanting a whole other dish....

I still wont send food back under any circumstances...

I would just eat the side dishs, maybe pick at it, order another drink and take some money off the original tip..

and when I go out and if I enjoy the food an service I tip well above 15%

it Im not satisfied then I will write why on the bill tip them what I think deserve and wouldnt go back.

You a goddamn fool if you pay for some shit that wasn't prepared to your liking. :smh:

This is a big statement considering you work in restaurant industry, and I feel you.... but ain't it a bad look if we sending food back?

I just ain't a person that's super picky, I eat what I eat so I'ma order what I know I'ma eat. And I ain't finna bitch if its a lil off :dunno:

Tariq was caping for dude heavy, to say that it's 'coonish' to suggest that this guy take his money to a black restaurant is pushing Tariq to jump the shark with the 'coon' moniker, im down with Tariq on most of his points, but in this case, his stance is misguided imo

Been to Houstons a few times, but it's been YEARS.

Like not within the past ten years.

Didn't have a problem then, (it was always with a group), but this story has real traction because it's more than on incident. Makes me wonder if it's under new management or if they just decided that it got "too Black". Either way, I can think of a ton of other places to get a steak and a burger.

That’s why I posed the question to him about making an item incorrectly as opposed to the taste or any other food related issue to see his answer.

If something is made incorrectly such as the cooking of a steak or the dish is made with some you asked for it not to have due to allergies I can’t see the server or the cook being upset.

People are people and they can get upset or not but if they’re upset about their or the notching staffs mistake that’s in them.

Now if a person is sending feed back because they don’t like it because it’s not up to their standards, then the staff is likely to do something to their food.

Sending something because because of an error usually doesn’t lead to something messing with your food.

You’re focused on the people who are irritating customers and they possibly get their food fucked with.

like I said..

good luck mi amigo...

All I got from this incident was “please mr white man, take my money whilst you disrespect me.”

Black people need to choose the right battles to fight. Dude was getting way too emotional. That video should’ve been only 2 minutes. Record proof of discrimination, report it then keep it moving.

These chef's in these nicer restaurants get paid pretty good right. Like $25/hr or something around that? Seems like they would be serious about their paper. They aint spitting in food left and right like somebody working at Taco Bell.

I agree. The spinach dip and smoked salmon is where it's at. Notice T.I. said, "no spinach dip today"
