I tried to like this, listen to it 4 times. Listened in the car, with my headphones, in bed, and my sound system, and it's only cool to me. I like 5 songs. It's crazy because he would be a rapper that I like, I appreciate that he is true hip hop and is a great rapper, but it's just something about him...maybe it is the beats or not enough aggression. I'm still going to his concert when he comes to LA, but that's because he is my baby girls favorite rapper.
Cole made a great hiphop album, just the way he wanted to make it. He put an immense amount of thought into it and an equal amount of effort into its; very direct; promotion. His human approach to the promotion has made me enjoy the album more. He's never going to be exciting, because he is not exciting. He's the "star" who lives next door and you see working on his car time to time but he also goes off on world tours, cos that's his job. He is a great rapper, he really is, technique and flow, cadence and creativity are all there. Thats my 2 pence on this noise anyway. Oh one more thing; Cole did one of the illest tour announcements right here :
