J.cole Says He Finally Got Release Date For His Album Possible Jay-Z Feature.

Did you hear Jayz rap? Now have you heard Jcole rap? Do you think they even sound similar? No way in hell they sound the same. Thats not my opinion thats fact.

i was talking specifically about how i dont see anything special about him, not about him sounding just like jay-z.

either way u seem very wound up about the situation.

relax.

Lets do a little reasoning here. If Jay Z only works with new artists he can leech off of, doesn't that mean that by default that J. Cole isn't worthy of being leeched?

Negative....I gave my opinion noting more nothing less

So you relax buddy

J. Cole has a new single out.. Its been out for a month. Who knew?

:smh::smh::smh:
This here is a damn shame.
Shows you how bad the rap game is when THIS is the type of product you have to put out to get noticed.

That being said, it's not even catchy.
Not that I'm happy to say it, but he won't do anything over 250,000.
Which I guess isn't saying a lot these days.

I don't see anything special about this guy. I listened to that song, and he sounds like a Jay Z wanna be.

All i care about is the next slaughterhouse album anyway.

Have to agree with you. I think he's dope but he's not the type that's going to blow up in this industry. Luckily, he has the production game going for him and I hope he continues to exploit that rap and hopefully feel comfortable in his own lane, because these singles he trying to put out to sell is just not his lane and it sounds too forced. Some rappers can easily balance the two, but most fall on one side of the spectrum.

and yall still ignoring the fact that he said he wasn't working on it fully so the album wasn't done
and he didn't have singles so the album wasn't done
the possible features are cee lo and trey songz
jay-z will drop a verse and be on the album.

Nah, it's gotta be cuz the 'machine' didn't say "Poof, let there be an album"

exactly
people still gonna talk shit when he said out of his own mouth
he was busy and wasn't totally focused on it
and he had no singles

they'll still ignore it

and many were saying he doesn't even tour hahaha but out of his own mouth he was touring so much he was too busy to just totally focus on the album...

now let's see who's word they take for it

Who was the last rapper to go platinum besides em?

you would think being the 1st artist on jayz's label he would get some pull, i guess not, dude barely can get his own boss on a track smh i bet drake could get jayz on a song before j.cole could.

No Jay Electronica news?

Lyrically he's the best out the two. The south should embrace him more.

I like J Cole....but J Cole is more commercial than Jay Electronica imo..hence he wil drop first and probably have more success. Artist like Jay Electronica wont move units in this day and age..unless he waters his style down to the level of the wack niggas thats getting heavy rotation.

Buffoonery is whats desired......

no, j ole is not commercial thats the problem.

he has a commercial look. light skin, non-threatening, young.

but he's actually rapping about real life stuff and people dont want reality, they want to escape reality to a land where co's are drug kingpins.

Drake took his lane

and does it much better.

You gotta have some style to standout, even if it's manufactured. J.Cole seems like the friend box nigga who tells your girlfriend that he saw you out with another bitch

lol...J.Cole is an above average rapper but he just needs to put more personality in his music...Jay Electronica does that very well...you have an idea of who he is, his beliefs and what his personality is like...his only problem is he doesn't release enough music but the old tracks still get burn

I don't think J.Cole has to make commercial bullshit to be commercially successful. I just don't believe he has enough buzz as I would like to as an up and coming artist. I don't know if enough people know who he is.

People forget Kanye West came in the game amidst all the cocaine, dope and bling-bling raps with a refreshing raps on social commentary. Since then his albums have moved away from that.

J.Cole is at the same point he raps about real life. I think he'll follow the same path Kanye did, in that first album will be a real life social commentary on who J.Cole is, his intro album.

As long as he keeps his music like this he'll be cool.

This is it truth to me. He built up a solid fan base with Friday Night Lights among other things, he needs to just take his shot.

I hope that September date holds.

from how it looked to me hov picked j.cole up looking at the buzz drake had and was gonna wait till drakes run was dying down to let j.cole do his thing but drakes run never really ended...

"Get it while you here boi, cause all that hype won't feel the same next year boi, yeah"

They sound similar in THAT song to me. Style, how they use words. In that song, they sound similar.

Relax.

I haven't listened to a Drake song since Forever. He's had more stuff out? I only listened to Forever because Em was on it....

I don't understand the Drake fascination either though...

I like dude.
He is an above average MC.

But he will flop.
I see a lot of arguments of whether his label and Jay is the reason why he doesn't have buzz.

But in the end he just doesn't offer anything to hook anyone.
This isn't the 90's where rhyming ability is rewarded.

Hopefully after he tries the mainstream route he plays an independent/underground lane.
IMO I don't see him doing anything outside of that.

Friday night lights should of been the album.
