Obama is far and above better than any recent choice available, but Smiley does have a point in regards to economic indicators. The income gap between blacks and whites has widened and black unemployment remains stagnant and regressed in some areas. However, this is not because of Obama: its because of America's constitutive racial oppression...its the system.

Tavis is in the wrong and I think he is aware of that... I think, he's trying to save face by posing an argument that he believes is sound ... That under O's presidency blacks have not done well... The problem with the argument is that it ignores the Great Recession .... and the far reaching programs put together by O will have an impact but it's too soon to measure... I think, Tavis is a reformed hater that has seen the error in his ways but still has an outsized ego

He has consistently and unfairly attacked and criticized the President. Tavis is in a position to know that Obama policies are not against Black folks. He also know that this country is suffering from the worst economic recession since the 1920-30 and the middle and lower classes are disproportionately affected. So fuck him to try to pin this nonsense on the President.

Mortgage assistance programs, school loan assistance programs, American automakers aide, stopping a serious effort to shutter USPS, expansion of food stamps and drumroll please....... HEALTHCARE
