This dude pays $399 for his PS4. He gets someone to record him smashing, screaming out his website, and posts on the web. Sites like worldstar get a hold of the vid. If the video goes viral, he gets all that publicity for $399. Of not, he writes the cost off in taxes for his website. He wins.

philly you have a good point there man......but still that hurt me watching that.i would have been pissed if i was in line an they ran out of ps4 an couldnt get one.like i said i have mines the games are buggy but thats what happens with new systems but in march thats when the real games come out.thats the only reason i got mines for.the robot thing is cool for about 10min the air hockey was wack,knack wack lol need for speed is cool.ONLY 6 TILL MY BABY COME HOME THEN ILL HAVE FUN....im a fan of both just ps4 launch games fell hard....

They do this all the time. Do y'all not remember people smashing PS3's and 360's at launch when they first came out. It's all a mockery of people's obsession with having the latest technology.

It was more shocking with the PS3/360 launches because they were a hot commodity. The PS4 launch is not as big. I can easily walk to my local Walmart right now and pick one up. I might just do that but I usually only play sports games so it's debatable.

Thanks for the info fam. I am a fan of both the Xbox and ps3. I own both. I was going to pick up a ps4 for my son for Xmas. Now that I hear about the ps4 release titles not being too great....I will probably just pick up an Xbox one instead. Not because I think it's better, just because the launch tiles look damn cool.

Hold up. The PS4 has long install times just like the PS3 did? Sony didn't learn anything from that. That shit drove me crazy with my ps3. The Xbox takes like 2 minutes to load a game.

Sold the one I got last night. I had to put $150 on credit card which was less than my profit margin so I can buy another one cash. I only put $100 cash down in the first place, plus I traded in a broken iphone. Gamestop gives the most cash money for old smart phones plus they give hella inflated store credit if you choose that instead of cash. Even with $100 down I'm gonna wait until March to buy one for myself. I still have several ps3 games to play before moving on and I want a system that doesn't wobble.

Stupid as in what a site like TMZ or Worldstar pushes out there. It's not about the website seeming stupid. "Stupid" is subjective. People go to those types of sites to be entertained. Lets face it, the stupid shit that people do has been entertainment for the masses since the beginning of time.

With these sites, it's all about views. If they can get a million people to visit their site all from a stupid video of a kid smashing a ps4, that cost them $399 to produce. That's an incredible return on their investment. If no one visits their site from the video, then they can write the $399 off as a business expense...like companies do with failed commercials.
