I was just unwrapping my new iPhone and noticed that it was shipped straight outta China.

:smh:

Is there anything made in this country?

No wonder the fucking economy is tanking, profit before people is killing this country.

American greed is a muh'fucka, they don't wanna build nothing here because they have to pay people a decent wage but who do they expect to buy the fucking products?

America is alway preaching about free market economies!!
If that is the case then things should be made where it is cost efficient.

If all the shit you want to be made in America was made in America, you couldn't afford to buy it!!

It's best to think about what you wish for, before you wish for it!!!!!

And if your Iphone was made in the USA it would cost 2-3 times more than you paid for it, since Americans wages are well above Chinese wages. And if you are truly bothered by the made in China tag, I suggest you return your Iphone.

Naw, you are wrong on this one, I have been buying american made cars and clothing all my life, the main thing right now is to eliminate corporate greed, shit Home Depot gave former CEO Bob Nardelli 210 million when they FIRED his azz, then he took a job as CEO of Chrysler.

Profit is everything in our society but if you don't trickle those profits back into your economy you have a losing situation.

Our current economy is a prime example.

Get a grip dipshit.
Lower wages means lower cost goods (as long as there isn't corporate crowny-ism and plenty of competition... ie big pharma & the FDA... monopolies and fake comp tend to keep prices high). Meaning you won't need that high paying job. Quit acusing people of greed, after all you want companies to keep their factories and shit in the U.S because you want a higher salary. Get yo ass of the couch and get a A+ cert and pull down some cash helping somebody get some business done. Quit winning for cushy, do-nothing union jobs that will eventually be all filled out by robot laborers anyway.

Fuck Obama by the way!

Trust, you don't want a command control economy. You are much worse off. Think Cuba, USSR, Venuzuela, Limited buying power for the money they earn, but they got cushy Union Jobs:smh::smh::smh:

Items and the economy would be better if more things were made in the USA. Back in the day when most of our items were made here guess what we had less crime, nicer neighborhoods, more jobs, and folks cared what was going on next door. Just look at Detroit for example. Look at how the economy thrived when products were made there. Or think about the small town you visit in the summer. How the steel mills are closed, the tire factory closed, or some type of mining facility is closed. Bring production back to America and things will work out. Just think that 25 years ago you could graduate from high school. Start your job the next week. Within a year be married, have a child, and be a homeowner with 1 car. Try that shit in 2009 and see how broke your ass is. Worldwide economies only help the pockets of corporate america. Not the consumer .

Kats worried about what is made in America. These same kats wished for the fall of the big three. When it hits hope then kats start to get scared and worry. Its' a bit too late for that.

I been telling cats this for over a decade. That the fact America no longer manufactures anything will be the death of this country! I have high end audio eq I bought thru out the 80's and mid 90's. They all were made in Japan! America brought television to the world but yet 90% of the TV's in our show rooms today are from Japanese, Chinese & South Korean manufacturers. Asia, China in particular is now the world's factory! All the socket wrench sets, and tools when I was growing up, again all made in Japan! Japan used to be the # 1 shipbuilding nation in the world. They have dropped to 3rd place behind China and at # 1 South korea! Nobody in this country wants to go to school anymore to become engineers and if they do they work for the military industrial complex. The Military industrial complex and wall st is basically America's economy!

You guys got short memories!
Everyone in America was working for over 10 years in one of the most expansive periods of economic growth the world has ever known.
Now there is a down turn everyone is crying about things being made abroad.

If you start up your own business and conduct a feasibility study that determines that the manufacturing of your product in China will increase your bottom line profit, do you think it would be fair for the government to insist that you produce it in the US?

Well I think your letting your patriotism cloud you financial and rational judgment.

First and foremost, American car manufacturers have not made profits for a long while, so their business model is obviously not working.
Secondly, American car manufacturers don't make very good cars!!!

Everybody working in America is not making big money, you don't see McDonalds and Burger King having a problem keeping the doors open.

I remember when I was younger, pretty much everybody was working which in turn supported the corner stores and the tax base for the city which in turn meant better city services and public education.

Its all about building a economic eco-system, now your inner cities are turning into cesspools of economic and human decay.
