word. actually... all the browns 1st round draft pics from 99-03 were the biggest busts in nfl history.
what about their TE bust VERNON DAVIS.....dude has been injured for how long and hasn't produce shit....he had such a good COMBINE he got selected much faster than projected...
I had his ass on my fantasy team...
VD is dope as hell. He just don't have a QB to throw it to him. When he does he's a beast. You probably don't get many 9er games but when he gets the ball he's a savage. It's because our QB's Suck.
Truth I'm a huge 9er fan...tho I live in NYC....Giants, 49ers and BUCS...favorite teams...hated Pats and 'Boys....

Yeah but you don't get the local games like we do in the Bay. I see him and he's dope when he gets a chance. He runs niggas over easy. Derrick Anderson in Cleveland has had 4 OC's in 3 years and is good. No excuse for Smith. Are you watching the game now? Smith is garbage!!!!

As much as I hated Salaam he wasn't the #1 pick so he isn't as big of a bust as Kijana Carter, Aundrey Bruce, Leaf, or Mandarich.
He's not even the biggest bust amongst Bears picks. He's behind Cedric Benson, Curtis Enis, Cade McNown and David Terrell.
Derrick Anderson had one good year and has two pro-bowl type weapons and a solid back. If Smith had KW III or Edwards I'm sure he would be dope too.
I wouldn't call him a bust, he didn't have a fucking chance they couldn't protect him. The constant sacks fucked him up.

the 49ers is my team..we have a QB problem right now..but i won't put the bust yet on alex smith..his four years he was in 4 different offensive system..so i hope he won't be but he's getting there...

Akili Smith was NEVER given an entire season to fuck up the way those other QBs you mentioned were. He may have had 1 or 2 games in the middle of the season as a starter but that's all. Certainly never came into camp as the #1 guy. The other guys had 2 or 3 YEARS to make or break themselves as NFL starting QBs no matter how BAD they were in that 1st and 2nd season. Smith (and Ware) never got the same opportunities as the more "heralded" pics like Shuler, Leaf, Rick Mirer did. Not saying he would've made it had he been given the same chances, but we'll never know because he never did get them
