We had a strike package set up last night that was to take out Iranian air defenses, communication and other assets in the early morning.
In the 11th hour it was recalled and the bombers were RTB’d ...
They got a reprieve. Like when your Father was going to beat your ass for doing something wrong, but then company showed up at the house.
If you were lucky, he had time to cool off and moved on. If you weren’t, as soon as the guest left, he told you “don’t think I forgot about you. Get your ass upstairs”
Simply put, Iran blew a $110M asset out of the air. 5 years ago they hacked the signal for a drone and captured it.
Launching missiles at US assets while an entire B52 bomber wing (which definitely means B2s are hot and probably in staged in Jordan), 20,000 ground troops, and an entire Carrier Strike Group is 30 miles off your shore is brainless.

I’m sorry but Iran is almost impossible to invade. Iran has one of the largest army’s in the Middle East and covered by deep mountains.

Half of Iran is adjacent to countries that do not like Iran and would rather see the current regime be eliminated.
A US engagement would bring them along for the ride. Iran has a large military but no particularly sophisticated and easily outmanned and outgunned.
This isn’t the days of the Persian empire.
Obama used Twitter on occasion to announce military actions and posture.

I don't follow all this shit but wouldn't Iran have like unlimited backing from Russia China and NK? Like weapons and surface to air missles and all that great shit to fuck a first world nation up. It won't be easy. There would be casualties. I think a lot more than Iraq. The U.S. would have to just bomb them into dust without boots or anything on the ground. No helos, no tanks, no men, no low flying jets, just scuds and bombs. Those people love their country and boots on teh ground will get fucked up. They gotta be getting prepped for us.

That was incorrect. Of note, Obama specifically publically called for allies to join the US in an intervention (cough: military strike) against Syria, when other NATO nations expressed a hesitation of entering the fray.
Granted, Trump’s use of Twitter is, to me, excessive and even obsessive.
But his base largely enjoys that he speaks directly and not through several staffer filters, a press secretary or presss conference and WH releases.

For 20+ years the sanctions were doing their job. Stuxnet did its job. But then their nuclear program advanced to the point where they could develop yellow cake - the first major precursor to weapons grade fissil material.
That’s when their profile and threat level was heightened.
