Iran did called trump bluff

Sigh....

Iran’s own self-released video shows the flight path and missile track. At no point does it show the drone flying over Irianian land.
As a matter of fact, the tracking path of the missile demonstrates that it took a course that put it over water during its flight path - INTERNATIONAL WATERS.

The issue is simple: The UN and Global Maritime Law recognizes that a country’s territorial waters start 12 NAUTICAL MILES in from that country’s primary land mass or littoral waters and its contiguous zone at 24 miles.

Iran claims that the entire Straight of Hormuz is their territorial water, which at its narrowist point, is only about 20 nautical miles wide. As such, with such a narrow pass leading to two Gulfs, International Law forbades any one country from claiming that portion of water beyond its territorial buffer.

Iran’s claim is of course NOT in compliance with any recognized martime law and as such, blowing a drone of of the sky anywhere outside of the 12 nautical mile buffer is a direct violation of law and an act of war.

Debate me on those facts with your own facts, please. Thank you.

Your credulity would be charming if it wasn't so goddamn ridiculous. Cheerleading this bullshit escalation with no meaningful critique of the glaring missteps that led us here in the first place is absurd on it's face (remember when Trump pulled us out of the Iran deal?). You sound like a junior staffer working out of Bolton's office or some shit. No need to post these kinds of uncritical regurgitations of literal WH/DoD talking points. We can read their press releases too bruh.

As long as they CUT THE CHECK for reparations for slavery, I really don'ts gives a shit.
They ain't cuttn no check fool. They will give that money to the HBCUs, they will give it in the form of tax breaks, but they ain't cuttin us shit. Would be nice, but they don't give a fuck about blacks and they don't give a fuck about our whining. Yes, we deserve it, absolutely. But we're askign for money from the greediest lifeform that has ever walked the face of this planet.

If Iran flew a drone 100 miles off the U.S. coast right outside DC, hmmmm I wonder what the U.S. would do?

Nothing. It could be harassed but not shot down - not legally.

Growing up, when I lived on LI for a bit, Russia routinely anchored radio spy ships off the coast of the mouth of the LI sound and South Bay / Fire Island.

Grumman had a plant in Calverton and there’s the not so secret Plum Island gov research facility.

When we left from Captree or Montauk to go fishing, you could see them with the big red Russian star on the conning tower.

As they were in international waters, there wasn’t a thing that could be done about it ... legally.

“Took off in stealth mode”?
What is this nonsense he’s posting?!

A) The RQ Globalhawks are neither stealth drones or even stealth capable.
.

My dude. I usually don't bring this stuff back up. I wrote a long post damn near twenty years ago about being on the first non-military flight into Iraq during the war. If you actually believe the publish specs on things like the RQ-4A Global Hawk are what they're actually "capable" of :smh: , I don't know whether to laugh or cry at your response. There is always been speculation those drones were stealth-capable. Also, the stealth could be because it was launched by another drone and it started out of surveillance range. You do know that we have stealth drones that can also launch other drones, right? So it's possible that it was launch by a stealth drone and then appeared "out of nowhere" on their surveillance.

You better stop taking everything that a warmongering administration says a face value especially when the guys heading the war-beating right now have a consistent history of lying to enact their middle-eastern policy. John Bolton is running the same playbook he ran with Bush. Just two weeks ago they were pushing a narrative that the Iranians had attacked ships (as if they were an attack on the U.S.) and those ships had nothing to do with the U.S. and the owner of then flat out said the U.S. government lied about the encounter. Stop believing everything you read.

The one thing that is good about this and that the U.S. learned that the Iranians are WAY more prepared for us than we thought because they didn't think the Iranians had the capabilities to shoot down a drone that was likely flying at 60,000 feet.

I have faith that they will CUT THE CHECK! This has been forseen by Allah and his messenger! THEY MUST CUT THE CHECK! THEY MUST!

Seriously, it will have to come in the form of cash payments. Tax breaks is good too. but at the end of the day, they will have no choice but to CUT THE CHECK!!! We will have to let this play out. But I know im right on this one, breh.

$200 TRILLION DOLLARS! :money::money::money::money::money:
CUT THE CHECK!!!

Man. Just last week they were selling us a story that the Iranians were blowing up ships to escalate to a war with the U.S. and then the shipowner (with no relation to the U.S.) denied many of the things the U.S. claimed. Bolton has been wanting war with the Iranians for decades and he's doing to do everything he can to get it.

I’ll never forget how he and others owned you about the captain sully flight into the Hudson.
Yea.. you love referencing that. But as i tell you every time you do, THEY WERE WRONG IDIOT!! They essentially said there would be no airline liability and the passengers wouldnt get shit but luggage reimbursement. They were wrong. Now would be a good for you to admit the same.

Dude is acting like he just fell off the fucking turnip truck. You don't need to be some foreign policy nerd to see through John "Yellowcake" Bolton's bullshit. Then again, we are a country dumb enough to literally elect a conman reality show TV star to the highest office in the land and it looks like the media is ready to cheerlead this neocon fever dream just like they did for Iraq. Everything is dumb and all this shit is exhausting :smh:

Iranians make their own fighter jets,
tanks, rockets, torpedos etc. If the US
attacks there will be a war and the US side
will be weaker than the force GHBush arrayed against Iraq that comprised of 32
countries. The US is much stronger but
Iran is in a geographically advantageous
position. If the US strikes Iran there will
be war...which will be long and costly..
I also remember a lot of those countries weren't really down for the war. Some countries literally sent like a couple of people for "support" Remember Bush was complaining about the lack of support for his war from the international community. I think the UK was our biggest supporter and I also think because of that it sank PM Tony Blair's political career.

This administration's relationship with the truth is so warped that my immediate response is to take the opposition position on anything they say until I get the evidence.

As I stated previously, if the US wanted it with Iran, they would have done it a long time ago.

They know that country is not like those other Middle Eastern countries. Iran is sophisticated with their shit.

It’s evident to an avgeek like me that the Globalhawk has the completely WRONG design and shapes to be stealth capable.

Huge, tall, bulbous nose section.
Flat, vertical sides the main fuselage.
Twin spar vertical stabilizers.
Looooong thin wing span.

The entire design screams radar reflective.
It’s the perfect body shape for fuel efficiency and excellent loiter times over a target, and one of the worst combination of shapes for low radar observability.

About the only part of the design that is stealthy is the engine mounted on top of the fuselage, which helps reduce the heat signature a heat seeker head on a long-range SAM would use to home in on the target.

Capabilities to shoot down a drone that was likely flying at 60,000 feet.

Do we know what attitude it was flying at though? 60,000 feet is indeed military height, but I’ve yet to see any data on altitude it was at, and quite frankly this would probably be classified - until it is of course declassified.

Give Trump credit. If it came to war the US
could damage Iran seriously..he knows he
has that card in his backpocket. At the
same this show of restraint wins him
more support and if he decides to hit Iran
next time, fewer will demure. This is
shrewd politicking by Orange. John Bolton
Is sure to be livid at this restraint, so dont
Be surprised if Iran "commits another
Provocation"

Cheerleading? That’s a very odd phrase.
Why would you think that this is cheerleading. Do I read like a Warhawk to you?

Iran fired a missile in a plane WITHOUT identifying what it was and was lucky it was only a drone, and not a piloted aircraft, or even a passenger aircraft.

And this is OK to you why?

If you do not like that Trump pulled us out of the Iran nuclear deal, well that is a separate matter. File that under executive privilege. He decided that Iran having nuclear capabilities was a far greater threat then originally assessed by the previous administration.

But if you recall, the Iran nuclear agreement was only a compromise to slow Iran down from developing nuclear weapons - not to stop them altogether. It did not ban them from developing nuclear weapons at all. Only set a time limit and amount to how much enriched Uranium they could make. Which to me, is a waste of time.

LOL. They had the technology to locate and shoot down a drone flying at twice the height of a commercial aircraft and you believe they didn't know what they were shooting at?

You need to take a fucking nap.

We had a strike package set up last night that was to take out Iranian air defenses, communication and other assets in the early morning.

In the 11th hour it was recalled and the bombers were RTB’d ...

They got a reprieve. Like when your Father was going to beat your ass for doing something wrong, but then company showed up at the house.

If you were lucky, he had time to cool off and moved on. If you weren’t, as soon as the guest left, he told you “don’t think I forgot about you. Get your ass upstairs”

Simply put, Iran blew a $110M asset out of the air. 5 years ago they hacked the signal for a drone and captured it.

Launching missiles at US assets while an entire B52 bomber wing (which definitely means B2s are hot and probably in staged in Jordan), 20,000 ground troops, and an entire Carrier Strike Group is 30 miles off your shore is brainless.

Iran kicked the wrong dog.
And why the fuck is there an entire carrier group 30 miles off the coast of Iran?.. and why are we flying drones within hacking range of Iran? Would it be ok for them to do that

There was a an Airforce P-8 with the drone....

It’s evident to an avgeek like me that the Globalhawk has the completely WRONG design and shapes to be stealth capable.

They didn't say the drone was a stealth drone. They said it appeared "out of stealth" which wouldn't be a shock considering the U.S. military routinely uses stealth drones to launch other drones.

Do we know what attitude it was flying at though? 60,000 feet is indeed military height, but I’ve yet to see any data on altitude it was at, and quite frankly this would probably be classified - until it is of course declassified.

It's specifically a high-altitude drone and Guastella said that the drone was flying at "high altitude". We can assume it was flying where it's typically flown... 10s of thousands of feet above the max commercial height.

I can't give Trump credit for shit. He got called out plain and simple. Remember that he knows more than most generals.....................

As did Obama who made the dumb
decisions to start the war in Libya and join
the one in Syria.

The U.S. will learn that Iran is not Iraq. If we attack them they will unleash their proxies in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and Saudi Arabia. These war hawks forget how hard it was just to quell insurrections in Iraq after Saddam fell. Realizing that, just imagine how hard it will be the defeat Iranian back militias in just about every country in the Middle East. Add to that Iran has a million men under arms just in its own country. They are pretty much saying to the U.S., "Don't think we'll be an easy win". :hmm:

You 100% sound like a braindead cheerleader warhawk rn bruh. Out here on some Ari Fleischer shit smh. You're just rehashing WH/DoD talking points ad nauseam. No critique for the missteps and miscalculations that brought us here. No critique of this insane foriegn-policy-by-way-of-tweet theater of the absurd. No critique for the schizophrenic execution of this latest salvo.

Just 100% buy-in and head nodding. You even seem to suggest that pulling out of the Iran treaty was a thoughtful move by Trump lol. Like I said man, I've got my fill of this sort of blustery rationalization for war from Trump, Bolton, Pompeo and the rest of his sycophants. Not really interested in reading it here too.

I keep telling people that

Iran needs to chill out though honestly. They have to know their surface to air defense would be decimated by Monday Morning if Trump unleashed the hawks on them:smh::smh::smh:

He didn't and he won't. He's not a strategic thinker and I don't believe he fully trusts Bolton (the one who wants to war with Iran so badly)..

They know what military might the U.S. has, yet they did it anyway. They know Trump is weak.

You 100% sure it was international airspace?

That's what I've been thinking this whole time - American media rallying around the flag, parroting the same story
