Apple Announces Over One Million iPhone 4S Pre-Orders in First 24 Hours

Apple has announced that they have received over one million iPhone 4S pre-orders on the first 24 hours.

“We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.”
That number tops the previous record for Apple held by the iPhone 4 which sold 600,000 units in pre-order on the first day. AT&T previously announced that they alone were responsible for 200,000 iPhone 4S pre-orders.

The iPhone 4S launches officially on October 14th when it will become available in retail stores. Pre-orders should arrive to customers at about the same time.

Thing is, it's not a weak upgrade by any stretch of the imagination. If Apple named it iPhone 5, the only complaint would be it's not a 4 inch screen. I want a phone that works well and is easy to use. The screen must also be top notch and the interface must be very smooth. That leaves me only with the Iphone. I bought a samsung infuse and returned it after 4 days. I will check out At&t's new galaxy today before i get the 4s.

Its all subjective though, to me I dont see it as a meaningful upgrade. Plus im not for buying every fresh and brand new android phone.

apple marketing works again... sheep will be sheep... i tested out voice actions pro on android and asked it the same questions as the apple people asked of siri and guess what? SAME EXACT THING...i was befuddled...apple and it's sheep claim they have invented better voice control that is actually artificial intelligence and better than anything out (i mean the reviewers all claim android voice actions is the only voice service on android while completely ignoring the other apps but hey the reviews are iphone sheep anyways)... then i discovered something else since I have an ipad... Voice Actions Pro is in the apple store and it apparently does the same thing as siri but costs iphone users 7 bucks...(it was 2 bucks in android)...

wow! so folks are willing to dump a perfectly good i4 to get a i4s for ONE feature and pay 200 to 800 bucks for one feature that they could get for 7 bucks...and that is why iphone users are sheep. they talk about how vast their app store is yet they don't actually go into it...

but in truth i attribute a lot of those sales to people wanting to honor jobs...go on twitter and other social sites a lot of people said they don't need a new iphone but they want to honor jobs by owning the last one b4 his death...

galaxy s 2 has a better screen than the iphone hell the iphone screen is a samsung just a retarded version since samsung kept the good stuff for themselves but u know that already since in the other thread u were in someone posted the link about how jobs wanted samsung's super screen for iphone and sammy said no and gave them retina display... i mean u do remember that right?

what's next ur gonna say no phone matches iphone's battery life and claim the processor isn't a samsung processor apple rebranded when the galaxy line has better battery life and a even more powerful processor since apple tones down their version, for example a 1.2ghz dual core a5 processor is really a 900mhz to keep battery life how they want it... thats y apple never releases true spec info...

I will go look at the SGII today, but I have owned the infuse for 4 days and if the SGII is just a couple of steps above it, then I'll pass again.
