interesting question... why would you have music playing while recording video though? wouldn't that drown out the sound of what you're filming?

I hear you playa. It's like I'm not allowed to make a decision on purchasing something on my own. Insane.

As far as recording video with music in the background - I would think using a video editing program to add the music would be more efficient. It would make the sound quality of the music in the video better also.

Yo mines not doing the signal dropping.

Good to know homie. I've read around and users are reporting its not happening on all devices. But you know how it is. Bad news spreads like wildfire.

Let us know you're experience with it after some more usage.

I have a 3GS that is running iOS4 and I can open my camera while listening to Pandora but when I switch to video the music stops.

Maybe someone with a iPhone 4 can try.

Yes dumb ass, but from the same device?

Do camcorders have audio players on them to play music while recording?

Try again, dumb ass :smh:

woudldn't it be smarter to add the soundtrack on your computer so you can do different mixes and songs, edits etc?

The music stops because you are recording sound. Why the fuck would you record while playing music?

Ha, I never even thought about trying it on my 3GS. The video recorder may be programmed to mute device sounds so it can capture sounds into its microphone (which makes sense).

True, but a microphone is a input device and a speaker is a output device.

So you could make a video with some muzak playing in the background but I guess that is what iMovie is for.

damn homie, so im a dumbass because i refuted your claims? FYI, my phone can record video while the music player is playing (HTC HD2) -- the same device.

but i wont call you a dumbass, i'll just call you ignorant. :smh:

I hear you and I think maybe that's what the OP may want to do. Have some music playing while people dance to it or something. I still think having an external music source or adding it in later with a editing program would be a lot better though.

its actually smarter to cut out the uneccessary post-editing on a separate device by having it done from the device you're recording from.

See, I'm a stand up guy, and I hereby apologize, but still it makes no sense that a device will play music, and record video at the same time.

I just tested it with my HTC Tilt, and the son of a bitch does play music, and record simultaneously :smh:.

I stand corrected homie. My bad.

On another note, I have to test as the OP did state when Pandora is running.

are you thinking? No it cant be done...both need access to audio channels.
Basically if im in hooters for instance & i see a bitch with a fat ass..i wanna record her without being too noticeable..some chicks in conversation might say "hey what r u listening to"?..u can easily have music playing to where she wouldn't get suspicious:lol:
