ummmm...i know a lil about the law since I have been a criminal defense lawyer for 19 years.
ummmm....you have no fucking idea what you are talking about kid....federal law has nothing to do with the underlying case, since it is not within the jurisdiction of the federal government.
The feds might get involved if they decide to pursue civil rights violation claims against the officer.
But as for the assault, it is state law governed by the laws of the State where the offense occurred.

in the state where you live....if it did in fact cut the officer, it would be a F3, punishable by 2-10; if she had fired a gun at him it would be F1, punishable by 5-LIFE...no difference you say?????

No third trial for ex-deputy accused of assaulting girl in holding cell
The King County Prosecutor's Office said Friday that it will not pursue a third trial for former sheriff's Deputy Paul Schene after two juries were unable to reach a unanimous verdict on whether he assaulted a teenage girl during a videotaped confrontation in a holding cell.
"Given that two juries were unable to reach a unanimous verdict, which requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt, prosecutors believe that a third trial is unwarranted," the Prosecutor's Office said in a written statement.
Schene's first trial ended in January with jurors split 11-1 in favor of conviction, while jurors in his second trial deadlocked 11-1 last week to acquit him.
King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg said Friday that his office asked jurors in both trials to "take police misconduct and put a label of criminal misconduct on it. And they were not able to do that."

Masculine thought pattern: Cops are known to whoop as with little, if any, provocation. I'd better be extra careful not to provoke him and diffuse the situation if there is some sort of misunderstanding.
Feminine thought process: I can do whatever I want. If something happens to me I'll just point my finger and tell everyone that the other party is the bad person. Maybe I can sue them afterwards.
Men avoid ass whoopings, women assign blame after getting beat.
You all should check out this article. It's about how black women are quick to "go off", how black men around them usually pay the price, and how there is only outrage when the woman who "went off" pays for her behavior herself.

The cop still needs criminal charges filed against him. For one thing , these things cost tax payers A LOT of money. When the city gets sued they should get the money from the guilty cops.
