Long story short, my oldest daughter and i have a special bond, she’s stopped me from committing suicide more than once. Anyways when she was little she had a crush on Timberlake and we would dance to this song

Always skipping over the hey you home part. So I see her for the first time since I got out and played it. My ex wife gone say “I just want you to know that song isn’t meant for fathers and daughters, you’re being creepy and inappropriate “

I feel that the meaning, the feeling one gets from music is up to the listener. I have never heard that song b4 but it "doesn't matter". There are songs or parts to songs that make me feel a certain way about things that most people wont gravitate towards, and that's ok.

The break down of this song where he says doesn't matter to us makes me think of my dog I just laid to rest because he and I shared a bond that was deeper than most people could understand.

Only you know your energy and where you vibrate. Doesn't matter what others think IMO. If it makes you happy and no one is getting hurt... Doesn't matter.

It’s ya song so fuck who ever says something.. it’s like the nas song who world is this.. when my lil sis was mad young.. whenever the chorus would play..I would go whose world is this and my lil sis would go the world is yours , the world is yours in her lil kid voice.. literally whenever that song was playing I would say 1 part and she would say the other part my mom thought it was the cutest thing in the world and so did mad chicks.. my boys would get a kick out of it.. for yrs as a kid my Sis would randomly say that part if I go whose world is this.. it was like our lil song between big bro and lil sis.. hell my mom still brings it up from time to time

To be fair, looking from the outside, someone who doesn't know you see you playing that song for your daughter might think its weird.
 
Respectfullly, fuck your ex-wife. Keep that relationship with your daughter. I got a similar relationship with my daughter (12). We got our own goofy rituals that only makes sense to us and I love it. Now, that she's going into that teenage social phase she's comfortable talking to me about stuff that's going on with her and her friends at school. It's typical 7th grader drama, but I'm glad she likes to talk to her dad about it. Don't nobody else gotta understand that shit. Strong father daughter bond is necessary, don't lose it. :cool:

Nah bro, she tripping like a nigga walking with a club foot. Me and my daughter were the same way when she was little. Could communicate sometimes without even saying a word, just with a look or a thought. My ex-wife would be so annoyed how we would laugh and joke around like the best of friends. At her sweet 16 event, a part of the speech I gave went something like, "The bond and connection between a father and his daughter could only be understood by another father and daughter", or something to that effect. No offense, but tell chick to kick rocks barefoot. I suspect that's part of the reason she your ex with that kind of mentality.

When me and my wife got divorced and she started dating, told her I wanted to meet dude so I could size him up. Said she wouldn't bring anyone around our daughter she couldn't trust. Told her assessment would be clouded cause it's based on emotion and lust. She wouldn't let me have a sit down with him saying she know I'd scare him off. Then told her if dude even raises his voice to her, I'm killing him and killing you for bringing him around her. Asked to repeat it, guess so she could record it. Said again slow and clear. I did not fuck around about my little girl.
 
Can't make out literally 1 lyric in the entire song but...if it has a special loving meaning for you and yur girl then..fuck all hateful/jealous bitches.
