I'm I the only one getting tired of all these slave shows, movies, mini series consistently dropping

When's the last time there was an Holocaust movie?? They cant die that but the Jews won't greenlight too many of those (Schindler's List, Bastards of the Party).

Why do our best actors at one point in their career have to be relegated to slave roles? How many movies, shows must be made about the same subject?
The holocaust was fake

I mean what do ya'll want to hide our history now? How else are our kids supposed to learn about slavery because i can dam sure tell you these kids today aren't being taught about slavery from the older generation. I rather a white man make a movie about slavery that will stir up their minds then to just sweep it under the rug.

The real reason why you have so many slave movies.....i'll save that for later.

Man.... don't shit look good about our people being broadcasted to the world in our most fucked up place in history.

Why isn't there more Ancient Egypt movies? Hell, a civil rights movie? Something showing us in a dominant or advancing state.. not motherfucker property
This is sad. You seem to think every slave movie is the same. The nat turner movie shows the effects the bible had on us during slavery which sad to say most blacks dont know how nat turner used the bible for a slave revolt. But guess what this is the first slave movie to depict that. It is like b.m want to stay ignorant

Back in 2013-14 how many america gonna be destroyed movies were there? White house down...can't remember all them but there were tons of movies about america being invaded. Shit video games like tom clancy america being invaded that new joint that just came out. That doesn't make you sick....no no....seeing your own history does.

It's not our only history but we've had what 50 years post slavery in this country? We haven't even had a history past slavery yet. 50 years ago we'd be on the back of a fucking bus somewhere not able to look at white women without being hung and nobody will pay for the crime..

I don't take it as a diss. I like it. keep these memories alive maybe it'll inspire us to never forget and to fight. we are nowhere near the part of getting over it. we haven't even studied the psychological trauma that's been passed down.
And then we'll make a thread talking about how come black people love the church.

LEARN HOW.

And the funny thing is there aren't really any slave movies being made like that. 2 slave shows? 1 is a mini series reboot and the other is about us fighting for our freedom.

the most popular show we have right now is probably black-ish which is this generations cosby show
Think about it, i know a lot of blacks that dont even like to talk about the injustices that have happend to mike brown trayvon martin and that shit just happend recently.

Truth is people like to perpetuate this all one big family and slavery kills that. The same people tired of slave movies i bet dont know a dam thing about our history in slavery.

I agree with the OP. One thing about the slave movies they never really go to deep on how evil white folks are. They just scratch the surface, but they won't peel back layers and show the real evils of the slavery.
One thing about slaves that told their story about slave, they never went deep into how evil whites were.

Black slaves never spoke about how some of them were molested by whites because as a man they were ashamed of it.
I mean but do you want to see that in a slave movie?

No do
its not so much a reminder, I think they fantasize about it...

and think if they show it enough it would manifest...

I refuse to watch 12 days a slave or the butler or even the roots remake...

now I will watch django..dope any time a brother kills evil cacs and gets the woman at the end... is alllright with me....

and I will give nat turner a chance.. even though we all know how its gonna end...

truth is, there were waaaay more rebellions then they are even telling us....

in fact most were runaway enslaved folk...

in fact there were stories of our enslaved antcestors poisoning

all the crackers in the house, owner wife and children and working the fields like nothing ever happend,

when folks would come to investigate they would get got,

they would sell whatever it was they were harvesting, keep the profits and then move on to other states..

when cacs realized they were no match they would get the strongest amongest them, have him sell out to keep the rest in check.. many times it worked out, many times it backfired and the brother went back to his people...

remember cacs wrote the main narrative.. so he only gonna tell the parts of history that takes out his Ls aka losses and civilizes his savagery....

its a damn shame a lot of us dont talk the elders, some of them have some reallly good stories to tell....

but you are a hunid with your thread..

fuck these hollywood cant let it go slave dramas...

we need to make a movie about hollywood pedophilia

and rampant faggotry!!!

No dude you have to watch movies like that. Just like any responsible parent watches their child's favorite cartoons to see what it shows you have to at least know about those movies and watched some of it.

The truth is there is a great awakening going on in this country. And not just with us hebrew israelites popping up everywhere. More and more concious black men are waking up. There is a market for these kinds of movies.

Also it is one of the oldest philosphies.

Whites understand they would rather teach you about history before you learn it on your own. Same with parents teaching their kids about sex. You rather teach them then they find out by themselves what sex is and where babies come from. They would rather teach us about slavery then for us to learn it on our own.

Why you think jewish people have their own jewish encylopedia. Is there a negro encylopedia? Or a fucking mexican encyclopedia? No it's a jewish encylopedida to teach jewish people history. They rather have jewish kids learn history from each other then for a jewish man to learn black history from a black man.

They are writing history on the big screen

Our history didn't start in this country.

Plenty of topics of black history that can be brought to the screen besides slavery.

You keep talking about our history but then you want to claim history you don't know if it belongs to you . Now you just claiming all inclusive but quick to point out how Africa isn't just one country. Well it fdoesn't have just one history either.

Your history here in America for the most part is 500 years and most of that was under slavery, peonage and Jim Crow.

Then you say Civil Rights but obviously don't know what that was because when the Butler and the Help was realeased many cried about that depiction but obviosuly didn't realize that was a real time. It all wasn't Selma Marches.

You mofokrs are focused on white people far too much instead of looking at the stregnth and edurance of an oppressed people..

and when I look at Box Office cats ain't supporting Black Movies that deal with positivity but you mofokrs will run to watch some white super hero.

Underground was a great series and I can'r wait until next season cause Ms Tubman is now of the scene.....btw the the historialy challenged if you don't want to see good white people don't watch because they did participate and assist on the UR.

but focus.. it ain't about the white people who helped its about the black struggle and dare to sacrifice, the rather die to be free stregnth...

Roots was a great series when it came out and was seen by US all....Because of its age it is dated so hopefully the remake is as great because the new generation needs to see it to know.

I'll never forget thee scene when Kizzy spit in that bitch water or when Chicken George bitched up those crakkas.

The most fucked up time in our history that the whole world sees is these negativity promoting rappers so fuck what you heard it damn sure wasn't our people during slavery.
man that last sentence was cut throat. No one has issue with black women twerking in every music video or drive by shootings being glorified to the world.
I want the world to see our history. And you know the sad thing. When i went to go see "the race" and 12 years a slave.......it was mostly whites that were in the movie threater. I saw more arab women then black men

Yes they didn't show it in the inner city but still there were blacks that live out where it was being televised but i was the only black person in there.

No it didn't. But we dont need to sit back and talk about how great we used to be. How great we were has zero effect on us today.

Slavery we expericed has all the effect on us today.

Why would i want to keep reading about how great my ancestors were unless i have a low self esteem or still am miseducated?
Ok blacks built the pyramids.....how does that affect you today?

But you having to walk down the street and worry about being robbed by another black man has everything to do with slavery. I know enough black history and i'm not trying to study and read every african literature ever written.

If there were more programs to show us for what we truly were. Kings, Queens, inventors, academic scholars then maybe our people (specifically the youth) will tackle the world with that mindset.

Instead of focusing on slavery and being content in not being in those times anymore, we reach for something better

Was hearing you out until this.

Black movies aren't available is mass as their counterparts so box office is a bad judgment of support.

Who's focusing on white people ?

Not sure if you read my posts but I am not one to focus on white people or who does what with them in comparison.

My focus is on black people period.

I know what white supremacy does and what impact it has but White Supremacy doesn't have shit to do with how I treat the people in my community and that is a big change between now and then.

I was responding to your distaste of what "slave movies" represent globally and how "they" view us during the worst time in our history.

My response was our people exhibited nothing but strength ,courage and resolve during those times.

And in my opinion today is a worse time in our history as a people here in this country.

By that I mean we are now interested only in personal gain and material goods while sacrificing the dignity and strength those who fought more and had less exhibited.

Back to how we are shown as a people globally and the reason I mentioned rappers is because they have sold their souls to the crakkas that run the entertainment community and portray the worst .

We have become materially better of at the expense of being morally and culturally bankrupt.

People don't realize the way our news was spread was by the Pullman Porters who delivered black newspapers like The Defender across the country. People just see them as servants that were disrespected and called George.

The same can be said of Butlers, Maids, Washer Women. And if your family has been in this country for generations, the reason you have some of the opportunities you have is because of those you think are embarrassing.

If a servant movie or a slave movie or show is made and is historically correct I will watch it... Make believe bullshit like Django I won't because I don't get satisfaction from a fictional account. I want to see a real account of what black people did like Bass Reeves, fuck a Django.

You think there is a market for this t.v programming that will generate viewers to the point advertisers will pay millions for commerical for their program?? :hmm:

That's what I am talking about....There are movies about academic scholars and inventors so how many have you watched ?

And let's not forget many of them earned a living as servants and menial labor and some came up from slavery. And also don't remember how many had their inventions stolen because they couldn't get a patent.

Much of what you seek you have to read and not watch in a 2 hour show.

Your focusing on them being "owned" and not them and their strength.

The youth have it made and aren't aware of the struggle. You got fools talking about what they would do if it was them and don't even understand the struggle.

And you can't ignore history no more than you can ignore your crack head auntie or your retarded cousin.

As I said earlier if it is historically accurate I have no issues...

I know my grandmother who was born to enslaved parents who ended up owning land. I never met that King or Queen or anybody that knew them.

I too seek truth and that is brought about through the harsh reality of what our people endured.

I just don't feel like these movies, shows give us the proper due. I rather watch read some literature on the subject then watch these sensationalized programs.

It's like they consistently throw this shit in our face as a reminder:angry:

Never ashamed of what we had to do to survive brother. But the beauty in that isn't often portrayed correctly to the masses. That's my issue.

You perspective is all wrong. History is history. I learned that peckerwoods had mortgages on slaves and that sometimes was the only thing that prevented them from being lynched. I didn't know that before.

I learned from 12 years a slave something i experienced in jail that goes back to slavery. The bond 2 black men make during their captivity isn't really genuine.

I rememebr when i got out of jail, well really locked down juvenile facility and when my friend got out. My friend got out he never called or contacted me ever again. He was so happy to be out he wanted to put the entire history behind himself and erase the memory of being in that facility.

In 12 years a slave there is a scene in the movie where two slaves were chained together. Plat/solomon was chained to his friend. His slave master came to redeem him and his eyes lit up with excitement. So much so he was dam near dragging plat/solomon whom he was handcuffed to just to get back into the arms of his original slave master. He was uncuffed and ran into his masters arms not one time turning to look back and say "peace solmon" or "i'll write you".

And i get it. I never forget

I can agree with this... And Underground isn't sensational just as the original Roots wasn't.... I have to hold judgment on the remake

Never ashamed of what we had to do to survive brother. But the beauty in that isn't often portrayed correctly to the masses. That's my issue.

I can agree with this too.......My issue with Django..

The problem I see is that not many have that knowledge of what we persevered and today doing better is based on material wealth and many that don't know have sold their souls for that.

Money by any means has been very damaging.

People still believe that Jesse was treated as second class by Hilter because that is what the crakka narrative is.

Jesse was shunned by FDR and treated like a celebrity by Hilter in truth.

12 years a slave while an uncomfortable truth was truth none the less.

Free black people were kidnapped into slavery right here in this country.

That movie was historically correct and informative...

Yes black folks escaped north but that didn't stop it...

Many also don't know that slavery existed in the north.

Someone asked about holocaust movies ? Well Jews don't forget because they are taught in their homes. Black folks forget and others never learn

You're talking about 200+ years of American history (well, colonial and American history)... and aside from the history, it's shit that is about as dramatic as shit can get. Think about how many WWII movies there have been since 1941... I guarantee there have been more of them than there have been slave related movies. The Holocaust (that one at least) took place in Europe, while the American slave trade took place right here, so why even compare... but if you're gonna compare, I think you'll find that there has been as many or more movies about or at least related to the Holocaust over the years. Is your problem with it the number of movies or are you mad that at this particular moment there are move slave related movies out ? I'm guessing the cable tv series with Jurney Smollet and the Roots remake are what you're meaning?
You mentioned Schindler's list, but of course there was also the Pianist, Inglorious Bastards, Band of Brothers, etc... all in recent history. The last 2 weren't necessarily holocaust movies, but the were holocaust related.

When's the last time there was an Holocaust movie?? They cant die that but the Jews won't greenlight too many of those (Schindler's List, Bastards of the Party).

Why do our best actors at one point in their career have to be relegated to slave roles? How many movies, shows must be made about the same subject?

I don't have a problem with it at all.. Especially if its put in its proper context. It becomes a problem when it becomes our ONLY point of reference as it applies to to our history HERE. That is a sad commentary on that individual more than an indictment on the makers of the movie. I watch and will watch each and ever one of these movies with the kids I mentor, and then initiate discussion sessions and research projects from real historic sources. At a point we actually discuss the movies as it relates to the information they researched, points out the inconsistencies and untruths told, and the kids leave with a greater sense of self and an even greater sense of our history as opposed to HIS-story...

I also use it as a tool to enforce methods to cause them to appreciate themselves and what those before them went through so they could be who they are... not waste their lives doing dumb shit, killing each other, ending up incarcerated, etc. but to strive continue to remind CACs who we are and to succeed IN SPITE of the hinderances put in their way.

I'm talking the timing of it all. All these things happening in a calendar year.

Regardless of how we differ on the subject, I appreciate all of y'all for articulating your opinions. I've soften my stance on the subject. I just want our history to be portrayed truthful. That's all

I don't want too see my people in pain until the same VOLUME of pre slavery world domination and POST slavery achievements with the same money behind them.

We got kid with no balance being forced to watch a roots remake. For what fucking reason other than to destroy the mental and have more Black families scared to name their kids an African name...

Nobody is forcing your kids to watch anything.

Its also to bad most don't know about their own families and history so that they could watch with their kids and use it to teach instead of only teaching them fuck cacs and i bet if it was cac then ..

you kids should have seen the original roots and should also have raad all about it..

if parents are afraid of naming their kids African names then it shows how fucked up the parents are.

But make it an African name and not some phonically spelled made up shit

Dude the real history is hidden in books, locked away in places like elite universities, the vatican library, to name a couple....

these movies are

more like cacs tryin to relive the past and erase true history at the same time.

These movies say nothing of the fact that while there were some

of us that came across the atlantic, most of us

WERE ALREADY HERE... we been traveled across the atlantic on the natural currents that go from america (brazil) to africa...

this is the truth they do NOT want to come out...

the folks they try to pass off as the original native americans

were the seeds of the Original Mayans aka Olmecs, aka Africans that were already here..

they are the products of Africans and the Asians that came across the Bering Strait 3000 years ago,

but we were here fifty thousands years and beyond....

Europeans keep showing these movies to dumb us down to the True History of the world and to hide the fact they are the last race of people to inhabit it, and will be the first to be extinct,

as you can tell by their birth rate and why they are so into bio technology, hoping to extend their existence through technology...

ONCE YOU READ THEY CAME BEFORE COLUMBUS YOU MUST READ THIS, IT STARTS WHERE THE GREAT VAN SERTIMA LEFT OFF.........

Their slave movies are only meant to dumb you down and

trick you as to, who this land really belongs to....

Africans and their offspring...e.g Mexicans..

as far as those european jew converts of course they are writing encyclopedias its there attempt to wash out who the REAL Hebrews were....

when they cant even proof they are a semetic people...

BUT WE the so called african american CAN prove our antcestors were semetic speaking people!!!

THINGS YOU WOULD NEVER LEARN FROM A EUROPEAN ENSLAVEMENT movies

and we were never slaves.. we were ENSLAVED big difference..

but our constant resistence and escaping changed that, not no fuckin

abe lincoln....
