I was right here. Where were you? I haven't seen this amount of passion in any of those threads.

I mean ya'll are going hard as hell at this. At telling other people what they should like and dislike man.

Somebody like this shit. Let them have it. It could be a whole lot worse. Ya'll are the most elitest, self centered folks I have EVER seen homeboi.

Damn. :smh:

Passion? Didn't this whole thread start because someone was feeling a song so much that he called the ones that didn't like it haters??

Swatlanta-I can't speak for freaky_1 or Hilltop, but I just want to hear emcees that can rhyme and singers that can sing on the radio. I don't give a fuck what coast they're from. If that makes me old fashioned, then so be it.

yeah because this snap shit is the next classic shit. I know what classic hip hop sounds like and I don't care what others think of it.

I see what you're saying and just adjust with the times and co-sign the ignorance and the dumbing down of our society through our music and other forms of entertainment. Wow, ignorance is the wave of the future. I can't see why I didn't see it before, let me go out and learn how to superman that hoe and do a stupid snap dance like a damn fool.

Get some fucking standards.

Hurts being irrelevant, I know....

I have repeatedly stated my dislike for snap music, but you still keep trying :smh: . Just throw on some tight slacks and a pink sweater and classic hip hop yourself to death with Kanye you lame ass nigga.....

This will be the last time I say this:

It's about moderation and variety
There's nothing wrong with a dance song here or there. Hell, I remember growing up hearing them. The Tootsie Roll anyone? However, at that time there was a good mixture of songs being played and pumped out to the masses. Nowadays that doesn't happen. Listen to the radio and you'll hear the same 20 songs over and over again. The market is flooded with songs that not only sound the same, but have the same bullshit ass formula. There's no creativity, no thought...just redundancy. You can't tell me that is just the "evolution of music."

say ti again they aint hear you

I agree with you, I'm 31. I already stated who I listen to, but I also realize what the young cats want to hear. I still listen to pac , biggie, tha dogg pound, too short, suga free and a lot of other older groups. That's why I don't listen to the radio...

ok fine so be it. I don't wear pink that shit gay. I don't care what other people think of me. Never have never will. It seems to matter to you though.

If we agree that we don't like this snap bullshit, why are you attacking me? We fucking agree!

I don't try to get knowledge from a rapper, that's why I have books. I just like hear dope rhymes and things like that. I just can't co-sign any and everything like you guys do. You think being in the majority means something to me? It doesn't. That's why we have different opinions. Sometimes you won't be in the majority and that's fine.

When an emcee rhymes, it's supposed to make you hit the rewind button..not the eject button.

This makes me sound old, but sometimes kids listen to rap and haven't listened to hip-hop. You know how many times I hears 14 year old kids ask me what was the song in the background of the last episode of Boondocks? (it was MF Doom) I let my younger cousin listen to the Genius vs. Muggs CD and he didn't want to give it back because he was facinated by the wordplay.

I don't listen to the radio either. again we agree. I'm 32. so we came up in the same era. All i'm saying is there needs to be variety.

You do't like Kanye West, cool you don't have to. But I'm not about to say you're hating on Chicago just because you don't like Kanye. That's stupid.

That didn't excuse the comments that came after that though. It went beyond this song and into how the south was coons and had 5th grade education and shit.

Just to prove a point about a fuckin' Playa'z Circle song. I call that passion. Don't know what you call it. :smh:

I didn't appreciate it. We appear to dislike much of the same music. The fundamental thing ya'll are missing is that...I DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF YOU DISLIKE IT OR NOT!

Don't come in here talking about the south don't got standards and we can't police our music and we are dumb and expect me not to stand up and say something WHEN YOU DON'T FUCKING LIVE HERE!!!

You don't know what we like or co-sign. You are talking to the source.

Block music. Shit that people probably made in five minutes on a casio and freestyled for ten minutes to make is NOT CLASSIC SOUTH MUSIC.

It's block music. It has it's place. That's what me and SWATL and everybody else has been saying.

You don't know that place and will never understand where that place is until you come to Atlanta so you can't tell us shit.

We know where it stands with us. So quit trying to EDUCATE us. We could educate ya'll if you got your head out your ass and listened. :hmm:

Nothing personal, I just said some bogus shit . I still believe that there is nothing wrong with supporting these cats (as long as I don't have to listen) because I know a lot of cats that pursued music and dropped selling dope.

I am a huge fan of Common and Twista so that would never apply to me. I dislike Kanye, but you don't hear me bitching about how he is pussifying the game with his ubermetrosexual ways. Let the man be and more power to him for making his music. You can't take that stance with the southern artists because there is some hate involved on your part.

See response 1. But I do believe that all radio on the air is the simplest most retarded form of music that has the catchiest hook that can be made into a commercial..I was tired of hearing "Ballin'" all the time during Giants games.

We said that it had it's place..just not at the expense of other types of music.

The music in that video should NOT be associated with ALL types of southern hip hop. That is the problem. People are calling T.I. the King of the south because HE says so..and they believe this nigga.

OK I will. Except for that faggot ass Fry That Chicken shit. That gets no play in GA.

All of this shit started out as dances in clubs on bankhead. Much like the electric slide or tootsie roll or any of that other shit. Kids (teenagers) go to these clubs and the dj will just come up with some off the wall shit and chant it. Like Luke used to do in Miami. Laffy Taffy or Lean Wit It. White Tee came out of that culture because poor people in the projects can afford to go to Foot Locker and buy the 4 for 20 white tee shirts. Hell niggas from New York rep that too.

This is street talk. Slang. Never meant to be a national sensation. This is teenagers showing out trying to get girls and attention. Much like we used to do as teenagers.

This shit has no relevance on the hip-hop scene in Atlanta. Atlanta is still very much TI, Ludacris, Outkast territory.

We have up and coming artist here that are getting over shadowed by this shit too (like Stat Quo for one), but they are not bitching.

They are going back to the lab and making better shit.

Maybe others should try that. :hmm:

You didn't say all of that, but you co-signed the man who did. So you got lumped in.

And the fact that this is bumping at the expense of other music is not the south's fault right. Do you know how many artists we have had down here that do this shit that never went national?

Prince Raheem, Freak Nasty, Splack Pack, Smurf (well he is now Colipark and runs with Ying Yang, but whatever), Miracle, Drama...We never gave a second thought when they came and went.

These boys would have too just like all regional acts do, but you up north niggas decided ya'll like this minstrel shit and started playing it. THIS SHIT HAS COME AND GONE FOR YEARS. Club music period. It plays...some like it...most debate it...it gets the hell on.

When you hear Outkast and UGK and 8ball talk about having to change the culture and be accepted what do you think they meant?

Like I said ya'll ain't from here. I am deep in this south music history. Ya'll talking to me like I'm some fucking rookie. We let this shit have it's own lane and we move on.

It's not our fault ya'll like it now. The shit ya'll like was playing on the radio here 6 months ago. :hmm:

You can't attack the southern "Coon-Hop" without attacking the south itself, for it is the south that buys that shit.

Only idiots, inbreeds and those with a low IQs would even dream of considering calling that shit the southern snap-coon (c)rappers spew from their orifices "music".

And I'm not localizing it to (c)rap music either. The shit from the south is damn near the worst music I've ever heard in my entire life. Fuckit, I'm puttin that garbage on par with Polka as being the worst music ever created in the history of humanity.

Like I said, the south is 20 years behind. While the other coasts moved on other genres of music these porch monkeys are still saggin wearin cross colors n shit.

This is an accurate depiction of what the south is doing for Hip Hop...

No I didn't I cosigned everyone that said this track was trash. I never said it was an North/South thing. The closest I came to that was when I recognized that the original poster MADE it and North/South thing.

We never decided that..commercial radio did. They liked Lil' Jon and latched on to it. Same way commercial radio decided to like "Ballin'" by Jim Jones up here.

That they think they have to put out a radio-friendly song like "Hey Ya!!" on every album to get airplay because they are getting squeezed out by trash. When did you EVER think that Dre would jump on a track like "Walk it out"??.

Andeyhollawho said:

The same way shit from up North that gets burn down there was something we were listening to 6 months ago. The issue is that we don't get EVERYTHING and have to go by what the radio plays in order to get a picture of what the south is listening to. The radio plays nothing but garbage.

This shit is horrible. LIL WEEZY is tone deaf!!!!
why is that car in a condo/apartment parking lot? stupid

Most old school rap would smash this crap and the sad part is thats when NY cats were still mastering our style. The south are full of hoes who do crap music and try to act hard while wearing man purses , slob down their man ,spit abc rhymes consisting of hoes ,drugs ,guns, cars, trash dances , bling ,rims (not in that order). The funny thing is the only real tip drill is record companies raining a few hundred grand on these coons while they destroy rap and make millions.

Back in the day, like around '95 to about '99, I respected a lot of the shit ni99as in the south was doing. Cats like Outkast, Goodie Mob, 8Ball and MJG, Tela, Suave House, and all the other here today gone tomorrow cats that I saw on Rap City was repping the south like it should've been repped. I'm from NY by the way now living in NC.

These cats sounded like they put a little effort into what they was doing. They were on some fly player shit. They also sounded like they had more than an 8th grade education. Ever since Three 6 Mafia came out, every ni99a coming out the south were carbon copied, biting ass Three 6 wannabes. One thing about them Three 6 ni99as is that even though they had and still have wack ass lyrics, they were still original with their shit. They sounded like nobody.

Now, the south is full of twangy sounded, ABC 123, simple minded, coonish, biting ass, played out NY ni99as. Whatever style NY is finished with, the South picks it up. :hmm: That is why up top ni99as hate southern rap. Ni99as down here sag their pants below their ass still. NY cats BEEN talking about Gucci, Louie, Fendi, and sunglasses since the muthafucking 80's and it seems like the south is just getting on that shit. South shit right now is nothing but recycled shit. :smh: They just wanna flip it and bounce to disguise it, but I can see through the bullshit. We see the biting the south does and we don't like it. I think most cats in different regions take hip hop more serious than cats in the south. If we didn't give a fuck about this once so called artform, we wouldn't say shit.

Now I will say that a lot of tri state rappers are biters themselves. Everyone wants to sound like Dipset or Cassidy. All niggas talk about is selling bricks and giving vivid descriptions on killing muthafuckas.

Wack shit is at an all time high everywhere, it's just that the south is making more wack shit than any other region.

You're on your own with the biting thing but the rest I agree with. To them it's just a hustle, nothing to be fought for or respected. You can tell in the lyrics.

Again you fuckin moron you need to learn how to read. Most of those threads calling out southerners in general are talking about how guys react to someone talking about the latest flash in the pan rapper from the south.

You guys act like we have to like every rapper that comes and not supposed to say the are wack or they suck. I know you guys don't police your music down there but damn, get over it. Others are not going to like that house nigga shit you guys are making.

Who in the south is going to make the next fight the power type song? None of you. Who's going to say anything of any significance besides excuse me toilet i'm the shit? No one. Because these rappers are the product of the industry trying to cash oout on the rap business.

If you guys are "running shit" the way you think you are, how come only 2 rap albums went platinum last year? One was Jay-Z. I thought you guys were running shit? How come no rap albums, none, were in the TOP 10 last year? None. With all the airplay club play and video play the south gets, only one of you guys can go platinum, yet you wanna holla record sales? :roflmao:

Please. Airplay doesn't translate to product moving out the store, ask Yung Joc who just dropped his newest pile and it only moved 66,000

The music was garbage , but I'm glad the brothers are making legitimate monies
congratulating on that accord. Just like a magician...they have somebody fooled.
