I only pay with money order. No return address envelope with a slip of paper inside with my username on it. Like Gene and LSN said don't have your other shit like personal info and social media linked to your BGOL identity. Lock up your profile if necessary as well.
There are definitely steps that can be took to secure identity, but I think most people really aren't trying to jump through hoops like that.

it's funny (not funny), I uploaded a Bomani clip on youtube and had to open a "deputy dawg" account.
My next email on Gmail in my real name suddenly became "deputy dawg" email! I only sent emails to my other NFL pool and my sister with headings saying it was ME
with the explanation that "deputy dawg" was my online gaming name Those who know me know I don't waste time with gaming so my explanation was suspect by a few until I corrected things. That was just a slight scare in trying not to get traced back to here but with Google running Gmail, youtube and everything else they have you gotta proceed with caution.
What if we DOUBLE membership by bringing someone WE PERSONALLY KNOW inside. These new members get vetted somehow (we can figure that out later).
But the point is YOU DON'T GET IN UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMEONE! Just letting some of these idiot CACs in who are feeling themselves right now - even without the hacking potential - can just make logging in & being here an unpleasant experience that may ultimately make members jet. Imagine the back & forth with the dufus posters multiplied by 5 or 10!!!

What about the members who have always paid with a credit or debit card in the past? Is there anything they or HNIC can do to protect them?

Yes I thought of that, but one thing I keep saying and it just gets dismissed, this board as it is presently constructed is dying. I can highlight that sentence until the cows come home and I will get advice about how to get more money, get members to pay more money etc. The real deal is this is a Black Porn Board that has a member base of people who came here looking for free stuff, and they just don't support and they will not pay more and they hardly pay at all now, Period End Of Story.

Well first and obviously, I am not using my real name, birthdate on this board. Problem is many who were on this board in the beginning may have not thought how big this board would of gotten. And back then social media wasn't as big either, so people didn't have the knowledge of how important being secret is. We were all under the pretense that this would be a underground secret like site too. So stop blaming the users and give most of the blame of changing the rules to the site owner.

When I first signed up for bgol, I wasn't thinking about privacy like that because I didn't exactly know how this place was.
I was referred by a friend who said this place would like the old school stuff I was sharing on other sites at the time.
Over the years it came clear that members on this board seeked out and googled stuff about people. The base of most ock threads had came from context clues within simple posts made by the person that got ocked. Not out right info exposed. You know, one detail that led to another site that led to another site that had some real info of the person.
Truth is that all our info is here. Our IP addresses are logged here. Can't say they aren't logged because I run too many servers to know that they do get logged. No matter how anonymous we would like to be, we can be traced. The boss is a hack away from it; that is if someone cared enough to do so. But that's not just bgol, that's any website.
But it's whatever. Boss gave us an option that he said he will kindly oblige to if we were uncomfortable with changes around here.

Yes. I have some that I use on my servers. Hell there are plenty of free ones online you can just embed right into your signature if you wanted to. Like I said in a previous post, all it takes is enough hate/passion and some dedication to get at anyone on here.
Times have changed and the Internet is smarter. The things we clown about other people doing on major social media outlets, we are way guilty of doing here and probably worse. Difference is we like to believe we are protected by some screen name. We are not.
We like to be social here and there are times where threads are made where a question is asked that may be a little more personal than we want it to be. But for the sake of participation, we go with it.
