If HNIC makes the main board open to google searches, who else want's their posts gone?

water

Transparent, tasteless, odorless

So to try to get more members, HNIC is going to allow the main board to be indexed and searchable by google.

I have no problems trying to get new members, hell I support that.

What i don't support is busting the main board open to:
1. google searches
2. hate groups doing CSI based on posts made e.g. threads on age of members, where do you live threads, job skills etc....
google "Milo trolls, Leslie Jones"
3. hackers actually stealing personal data, PMs etc
Hackers tap vBulletin vulnerability to break into 27 million more accounts
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3112...y-to-break-into-27-million-more-accounts.html
Aug 2016

4. The wild shit that goes on here that will have real world consequences for members.
A simple "fuck trump" could lead to all kinds of work issues, PR issues etc....

So HNIC, if you bust that main board open, give me a heads up so members could grab whatever info they need from my threads, maybe a few days notice and just wipe my existence out of here clean.

Bless.

I personally agree. I am not trying to have my identity back tracked and sourced for SHIT. If a military vet can be forced out of him home, over a fucking meal that was stolen from him (social security and all)....fuck the open board bulllshit.

Just look at Kaep.

cacs trying to make his life a living hell

then in a trump reign

cacs will try anything

oh you used the word "cac" online?

fired

Again, I have to ask, do VETS really have their real info in their profiles? I just said in the other thread, after the Blunt incident and Da Don ock of '10, I though cats got more paranoid. I've made it a habit of deleting PMs with personal info since before the board went underground.

It's not about 1 person though

It's about HNIC putting people at risk.

You may be safe

But what about other people?

See what I'm saying?

I understand it's about other people, but we do have a simple solution, correct? For paranoid folks, they can change the personal email, don't put your real fucking birthday in the profile, no social media links, and purge personal info from PMs.

What would the hackers have then?

Bro

There are a growing number of machine learning algorithms that will "discover" your identity.

We are in the age of cyber security, NPL and "Deep Learning"

This shit is no joke.

The fucking Russians hacked into the DNC, think about that shit.

A bunch of old mofos running security in the US thinking what they used to do still works.

It doesn't.

It's a whole new world

And I'm sitting in the middle of the development of it.

Shit is way fucked up.

You could end up on a watch list and have no recourse.

So how can we protect ourselves...other than unplugging everything from everything else.

You do know the DNC was hacked by a fake Google email trick, right? The old 'did you try to sign into your account' trick. The level of incompetence on their part allowed an old trick to work on them.

Naturally, things are evolving. Passwords that are secure today won't be shit to crack. All I am saying is how people can currently protect themselves. With the things you are talking about, people are going to be fucked regardless.

Right, if someone gets your username and ties that back to whatever method of payment you used for membership, :itsawrap:

Raises my hand for the post; just keep my post count but wipe the slate clean as of xyz date.

I have my real birthday in my profile. Proudly celebrating the big 0-3 next month.

just watch The Batman episode Gotham’s Ultimate Criminal Mastermind

http://batman.wikia.com/wiki/D.A.V.E.

As the two fight, DAVE says how he figured out Batman’s identity in a way that makes it seem scarily easy.

DAVE: “Using information readily available to anyone, I began by narrowing down Gotham’s population of 750,832 males. Those not falling inside the Batman’s probable age range of 18-36 were eliminated. Medical records revealed body-type matches, tax records indicate those who possess the wealth and resources to create his technology, but the true key to the puzzle was deducing who of the remaining candidates had motive to become the Batman. After all, every great hero must have an origin. And once Gotham’s Ultimate Criminal Mastermind put it together, the answer was obvious.”

HNIC dont allow that shit man. RT
that would be the worst mistake ever.
you'd be allowing Big Brother ultimate access to this place. and i guarantee, a shutdown will follow.

This sounds like the Y2K alarm of BGOL.....

 I'll be 93 Feb 2...

Remember when hnic was taking PayPal? Lmaoo

Seriously, I always envisioned cats signing up like they were planning major crimes. Cats sending in money orders with only touching shit with gloves and driving a county or two over to drop it in the mailbox. Buying money orders and gift cards months in advance. Remember the paranoia when he announced plans for payment?

No knock on HNIC, but paranoia been a part of BGOL for so long. Folks don't trust shit around here. Fight club for real.

I want it jus as simple as it been.. i n joy the privacy we have.. i n joy this board.. in so many words i would feel like i might aa well b on facebook or something like that.. keep it simple and private as is...

how does this get more paying members? naw man everything everyone posted in here is considered a fireable offense. We dont need the employment rate shooting up through the roof. lol

Stay under the radar and filter members coming in.

1 alt-right mofo finding this place and it's fucking over with a 1 man shop like hnic

We already have white supremacist folk on here. The accounts people have been pointing out as an indication these changes are causing a problem have not been new accounts made after the changes went into effect. They were all here looking and lurking anyway, they just didn't have the ability to post. I'm not for messing up past discussions. In addition to removing posts, they would also have to edit anyone who quoted the posts. The forums that are currently visible are not that big of a deal. There is no indication that there are other forums even available or that someone can subscribe to see them. Most of the concerns mentioned recently could be addressed just by posting in the correct sections, which are still protected.

The problem we are going to have is some of the attitudes regarding homosexuality, transexuals, terms like cac, etc. A lot of the younger folks are wayyyy more inclusive than a lot of the older people here. Some of the stuff comes across as a hate site. I'm not saying that is the case, that is just the perception a that may come off at a casual glance.
