i think twice...
got sick just at the beginning of the pandemic before vaccines and testing was a thing..early February 2020...I've had worse colds but nothing ever lasted as long as that...I couldnt shake that shit for the life of me, and had sinus issues for months after. whole family had the same sickness with varying degrees of severity.
once the pandemic started...I was mad diligent with sanitizing, masking etc. put strict protocols in place for my employees etc. and barely went anywhere non work related. this past month after travelling was the first time I tested positive and felt this way since february 2020.
Sorry to hear about that, TDot.
One of my coworkers had a similar experience with her husband back in the 1st quarter of 2020. He got quite sick during the early days of the pandemic, and she was off work for 6 - 8 weeks nursing him back to health. Making sure there was someone at home with him, as he rested and recovered in a different part of the house for the first few weeks and then reintegrated into communal spaces with her.
Also, we have immunocompromised people at work so she wasn't playing any games and staying AWAY from the workplace. She managed to stay healthy. Fortunately like your workplace - same thing - diligent with masking, sanitizing and limited numbers of people. I am so glad to no longer work in places that had 3 - 5 times the number of people like I did back in the 2000s. Our manager dropped off more PPE supplies at the start of June, and we did our routine reorder with a place called Planet Clean last week. The stuff came in yesterday. Boxes of paper towels, soap, disinfectant, etc.
Our clientele got their 2nd boosters just over a week ago. Our staffing got their 1st boosters back in January.
