I was hopin it would be good. It's by the guy that did The Green Mile and Shawshank, so he was two for two, far as I could tell.

It wasn't scary, just the saddest American movie to come out in a long time. I wanted to punch somebody when the shit was over. If you see it and you really imagine yourself in that position, it will fuck up your day.

:confused:Did you like or not?

I knew I wasn't going to see it when they asked the black man to tie the rope around his waist and go out into the mist.

Hate to say it, but too much character development. Then, to make matters worse, you spend two hours hoping for a great ending and leave depressed. Good book though.

I'm wondering if it was like the book. But in that case, the book was just aight.

The book's ending is FAAAAARRR different than the movies.. The book gives you the slightest bit of hope. The movie just fucks you up... in all kinds of ways. Not saying it was a bad ending, If you were in that situation you may come to the same conclusion.

The book ended with them driving off down the highway... and picking up a radio signal that sounded like "hope...". The movie makes me want to hit people.

Andre Brauer is in Most of Kings newer releases. He and stephen king are good friends. He isnt the first to die. Theres nothing against black people in the movie... Well nothing except the shit tryin to eat you.

He was goin out anyway. And he was an asshole.

Yeah, anybody who seen the preview knew that.

I would have stayed in the store, but there wouldnt have been a movie.

Just like dawn of the dead 04, why leave the mall???

If they dont, no movie.

i agree the movie was good up until that completely unnecessary ending..wouldve just settled for a final shot of the SUV driving into the mist then a fade-to-black though even then they probably wouldve did a "jolt"shot before the credits of a bunch of monsters following along behind the car

hell i wouldve been holed up in either my local Super Wal-Mart or the big shopping mall near where i live(although some idiots would probably leave most of the mall exits open  )

Im thinking theres gonna be a second ending on the dvd. I know MANY fans of kings books hate when they alter things so badly.

That ending made the father in me go OH HELL NAW!!!

Now that ya'll are talking about it so much especially the ending, I have to see it now. That makes 3 flicks I'm going to see this weekend.

This is a terrible review by you. You seem to dislike it but it made you have a reaction at the end meaning you paid enough attention not to like it. Not sure if it was the type of movie you didn't like cause of the plot or because it was poorly directed...

Did you like it or not?

Sorry for my shitty review. I didn't hate it, I just want you to be warned. Don't go expecting to be scared. It's like a 1950's monster picture, right down to the military and the air raid sirens. But if you're suicidal, you might wanna avoid it. I wanted to have a fight in the parking lot when it was over.

Andre Brauer character get's all but two killed at once. than one of the soldiers hang himself along with that fat soldier, than the last one becomes host to a litter of acid webb shooting spider things...

Man, you guys have been brainwashed into Disney-type endings.

That's why I always dig Japanese movies where the endings aren't always in the classical sense.

This movie's ending resembles Pet Semetary--a damned classic IMO.

It's one of those endings that stays with you. I'm glad a SK movie finally had a fitting ending.

BTW, I would like to agree that the brother dies, even though the rope was never tied to his waist!

peace

I'm not convinced Braugher and them died. The first white chick that walked out to get to her kids made it safely.

Thats an excellent point. I'm a screenwriter and every american studio wants a happy ending. Life doesn't always work that way. But then again I was disappointed with the films ending. Other cultures seem to accept that some endings aren't happy.

i dont think there will be a alternate ending seeing as frank darabont(the director) either didnt want to or didnt have time to shoot one..i been reading message boards for the movie on IMDb and ppl who have editing software are saying that theyre going to make a "Novella Cut" of the DVD version when it comes out..i assume they going to have it cut off right after the survivors see the ITC(Impossibly Tall Creature) and the car just drives off into the mist

you see that look on her face when she saw him(thomas jane's character)? she was like"serves your dumb ass right for not trying to help me out!"

Ashemk2 they died, remeber the guy with the rope around himself was with them and only the lower half of his body returned after the screaming was heard...
