Nigga shut ya bitch ass up...cussin don't mean I'm emotional...I'm sitting here laughing @ your fuckin "friendly advice"...so ya I guess happy is an emotion

good luck, a few success stories i've read stated they either went free or cheap (is there cheaper than .99 cents prices?) then as popularity grew they upped the price.. once it is in popular status people are more willing to pay.

another suggestion was to do regular updates to the app, even a minor cosmetic change will bring your app back to the top of the newest category keeping your app always in the top whatever list..

apple sucks ,,

see this is why we cant have decent debates here cause the other person you are talking to is usually an emotional child in a grown up conversation

I market share in other ventures. I have several different revenue streams. When you dealing with online media and you are independent the only way to make money is to hustle.

No different than independent rapper.

Ok Nah, by market share I mean just getting more exposure ... or increasing customer base ...

Just like an independent rapper does a guest appearance or promo or something to get his name out ... I don't have an app or know your business just thrown out some suggestions

You just gettin the app out is pretty dope imo ... I checked that show you posted with Oakley so I am diggin the content

Just givin my 2 cents

Then shut the fuck up and don't respond nigga it's that fuckin simple hahaha make up your mind 1 minute I'm emotional the next minute I'm tough all bcuz you act a bitch when you hear some cuss words

It is actually the opposite. ESPN can do a free app basically because they are ESPN..

As an independent site my readership is a loyal base, but I am the biggest black own sports blog in the country. So my niche is my angle.

I have exclusive content on the app that you can't get on the site. I sold 50 just off one tweet.

For every $2 I make $1.19..the goal is to sale 100-200 a month...that is basically an extra $1200-2400 in revenue on the year.

I consider that clean money
No other blog charges for their app. Even if they did, they would have a free Ad supported option.

Edit: I see others have echoed the same sentiments.

Na you can't have it both ways faggot...you can't try to take the high road yet ya bitch ass in here still tryna argue

Are those dev fees or was that a 1-time pay out?

The Developer came to me because they wanted to do a "sports blog" app to add to their profile.

So basically the $1500 fee that they charge to develop an iPhone APP was waived for me in exchange for the promotion they are getting from me and using my site as basically a platform app to show to other sports sites.

Apple charges a $20 monthly fee basically for maintenance and updates.

So anything over the $20 I make off the app is profit. But Blackberry and Android charge a similar fee and I will do those app for free, so probably end up running me $60 a month or so when all three platforms are done.

That's no where near as expensive as I thought it might be...appreciate the info

I think depending on who you are and what you want with your App it can get much higher.

I think what helped me is that I drive all my content on the app (my sites, my twitter, my youtube and etc).

So basically they are doing design work and I am adding content.

I want to do exclusive podcasts, there really isn't a limit just need to use your imagination.

I this your app also? Same developer? Are you Black (not that it matters, I;m just curious)?

I have an idea but w/o doing much research I always thought it would be more feasible to develop your own app based on what I read here but I saw on the page for your app that they even offer you quotes for ideas...so I just need to go ahead and focus on the idea and let the experts do what they do

Have you tested or did any research on Mobile Ads?

Have you tested or did any research on Mobile Ads?

Yes, but I hate apps with ads to be perfectly honest.

If I support something or like a site I will pay a $1-2...

Sold 75 today, so off to a good start.

The feedback basically has been to keep adding exclusives, but people like the one stop shop.

What were the returns like with the mobile ads, and about how much do you get per 1,000 impressions/per click?

Same as like a google ads...

Most of the ad networks I am on pay out around a $1 per 1000 Impressions.

The Mobile though is a lot lower like .15c per 1000 impressions.

Didn't think it was worth it.

congrats man. i saw it this morning when I was browsing the app store, kinda caught me off guard but props nonetheless
