How To Build A Home Theater - The Basics

i give mad props for the sub demo material. i didn't know that edge of tomorrow had that bass wave at the beginning.

a few of my favorite bass demos are the helicopter crash scene in the original matrix, when neo flexes after being resurrected at the end of original matrix and a fight scene in the original kung fu panda. the end fight of battleship when the use they main guns of the old battleship. i will post minute marks later.

The SONY HT-CT150 has been my Home Theater Baby for over 7 years now.

I do want to step up my Home Theater game again at some point.
When I moved back to NYC 15 years ago, I sold/gave away much of my HT set-up
Kept my LaserDisc Player and LD library fearing to part with them.

I can't part with the SONY due to the multiple connections it takes.
And its performance is still top-notch.

Shit still sounds great too. But since I took back a pair of Cherry POLK RTi-A1 I originally purchased for The Mom's ( separate components ended up being too much a pain for her to deal with), I'm trying to decide whether to go with a multi-speaker set-up again. At least add a center and sub provided I get a HT receiver.

But there's only so much you can set-up in a NYC Studio apartment.

Shit. I had townhouses when I lived in Oregon. So I had several big-time HT set-ups. And since Oregon had (has) no sales tax. I was stepping up all over. Especially when I had my salary in Publishing in those days.

But I'm for sure stepping up to a larger Flat Screen from my current 8-year old 39" Sansui. Deciding between a 55" or 65".
Maybe a few of you Cats can give me some ideas. I do know I don't plan on spending more than $600.

Glad to see this thread.

SVS Subwoofer Review ( PB16-Ultra & SB3000) - Are They Worth It?

Just for kicks, I went back to search for this Blu Ray in my collection as I don't remember the bass being that heavy in the beginning with my old, smaller subs. All I can say is, Got Damn! My wife came down to the basement from the upper floor and asked with was happening, lol.

Gotta wonder about the sound mixers decision there. The rest of the movie is tame compared to that.

Nvidia Shield TV 2019 Review - The Best Android TV Box Just Got Better!

I just want the remote

BenQ projectors projectd a far better picture that the Optomas.
Also if you rocking a projector setup (like myself), you must have the sound to match it.
No satellite speakers, or sound bars
Towers and dedicated center channel are a must.
Along with at least one 12 inch sub.

No doubt BenQ is better than Optoma...that being said Optoma 143x 1080p is currently at $399 on Amazon for a limited time which is a good deal if the rainbow effect doesnt bother you....not the best projector but a steal at that price

CORRECTIONS: 1. I was wrong about the VAVA Laser TV being a laser projector. It has a laser light source, but it uses a DLP chip, so it is technically a DLP projector. It doesn't change anything else I said about it though - just wanted you to know. 2. 02:07 – LCD projectors do not actually have a color wheel. Thanks to Johnny for pointing this out. Hope you find the projector you're looking for! – Alix
