The only thing I can think of is the black church. It seems like we can build the most modern church, but can't build a supermarket or strip mall.
Wonder how much discrimination the Patels faced when they went to the bank for a loan.Other groups do not face the level of sabotage blacks folks do, in fact it's not even close.
This, and most of those immigrants were rich when they came here or got loans that wasn't available to us. We really didn't start making money or was able to get business loans until the late 90's.Other groups do not face the level of sabotage blacks folks do, in fact it's not even close.

Exactly, but if you listen to them, "I worked hard and didn't complain ", "My father came over with 13 cents in his pocket".This, and most of those immigrants were rich when they came here or got loans that wasn't available to us. Brotha if you believe we oppress ourselves than that's fine, there's plenty of "evidence" out there to support that viewpoint. It seems like you're romanticizing white folks. They are just as cut throat towards one another (except when dealing with us), but there isn't a more powerful society labeling them crabs in a barrel. That’s a excuse.
And I can prove it.
Thanksgiving/Christmas is coming up.
Your family will be getting together.
Here is the challenge…
Gather just 3 well minded, financially secure family members and bring them to the side for a talk.
Bring up the topic of starting a family business with just you and them.
Then immediately watch their facial expressions, mannerisms and reactions right after you bring it up.
I guarantee you will get…
• Side eye glares
• Mumbling under their breath
• Responses of “I Don’t Know”, “I Got Some Other Shit Going On Right Now.
• And other negative reactions
I have done it over the years periodically myself. It’s like you asking them for a Kidney.
White folks, regardless of their economic level, their families are tribal and they stick together united.
We just don’t see that within the Black community.
That’s how your family members are.. several of my family members are millionaires, own bizz and been started their own bizz and connected with each other and put them on.. you need a holiday to get with your family members , all throughout the yr my cuzz , uncles, aunts, mom get together on some chill day shit.. in nov bunch of my family members going on a cruise.. they do this yearly sometimes more than once a yr.. we had several family bbqs during the summer.. hell a cheat code in ny family was to have a kid and throw a baby shower , the family would literally get you everything you probably need within the first yr or 2.. clothes, stroller, baby crib, walker, a shitload of accessories, etc.. my bday just passed this week on various times I done had aunts/uncles drop hundreds to thousands on me on that day or diff holidays or randomly, especially when I was younger.. 1 of the family pass times is gambling on the lottery I got uncles that makes 5 to sometimes 6 figs a yr on lottery .. if you speak to them they will tell you certain numbers to play, etc.. playahatian know about how I done made several gs off lottery each yr from the advice of people like moms, uncles.. sharing the wealth is what my fam is all about… so don’t say it’s black people that’s just your family homie..everybody ain’t the same, I know nigs that have family biz or biz pass down from generation to generationThat’s a excuse.

White people are united in their use of a rigged system that oppresses black folks. While other groups have been ALLOWED to grow we have been feed a constant stream of trauma and injustice, so some abnormal behavior is to be expected. Right? I mean I'm sure you'll agree that we are not naturally defective....
Maybe everyone in your scenario is hesitant because they have a bit of internalized racism. For the past 2,3,4,5... generations all they know is working for the white man and see only him as "professional", "intelligent","honest", and "hardworking". Maybe they are nervous because no one has experience being an entrepreneur, coming from a lineage that is constantly denied resources and basic fairness. Working together is a fundamental function of all creatures that live together, and if what you say is true that our problems stem from not working together, than what is the cause of this disfunction?
"We are our worst enemy" is not supported by facts. The truth is our worst enemy has caused damage to our community that is incalculable .
This is probably one of the most profound quotes I’ve ever encountered in my life. Martin Luther King Jr. was absolutely right. The two most dangerous things on the planet are sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.

This is why there are crabs in the barrel.

but we have to really examine the mindfuck of how racism in america functions...remember there were free blacks and well to do blacks during slavery, reconstruction and jim crow eras. Cac conservatives and those to argue against what blacks are saying about racism are constantly using that against the argument.
They portray racism as a hardline black and white issue:
If racism is so pervasive then why are there rich blacks today??
How is there a black middle and upper class?? why didnt racism stop them??
And more often than not Blacks have problems explaining how things work.
example....

Jack Johnson became rich and famous by literally beating the daylights out of white men. If you look at the pic on the left you see all the accoutrements of a Baller that Johnson pioneered:
*Fancy car most people couldn't afford at the time, check.
*White woman on his arm, check.
*Pitbull, check.
*Audacious display of wealth, check.
Johnson was not only rich but dated and married white women and publicly flaunted his wealth at a time in American history when black men were being lynched at astounding rates in the south. The most flamboyant black entertainer today couldn't hold Johnson's jockstrap in comparison.
question..as bad as things were...why wasnt JJ killed at that time???
I struggle to make the counterargument for how racism in america works beyond the most obvious examples of slavery and jim crow..
So we need to talk among ourselves and examine exactly how the mindfuck of racism functions in american society...
I hear what your saying and I dont dispute that but I also want to rigorously work this topic so that there are more responses with more clarity than that. Racism is real but there is as strong an argument for classism as well and that negatively affects everyone across the board.Racist and their cohorts (the deniers) will always attempt to deflect from the fact that this nation is fundamentally racist and picks its "winners".
Why there’s classism america will find a way to treat their white poor better than they treat the black poor, so it always go back to racism.. remember food stamps , etc was not created for us, it was created for them.. if black people were the only 1s getting public assistance they would’ve been removed that shit.. it’s just that there’s a lot of white poor so they keep it around for them, same with section 8, etc… just look how they treated black addicts of the 70s/80s( they didn’t care) , but the cac addicts of 2000s they do care( it’s now a crisis)I hear what your saying and I dont dispute that but I also want to rigorously work this topic so that there are more responses with more clarity than that. Racism is real but there is as strong an argument for classism as well and that negatively affects everyone across the board.
