Uh... lets try this analogy.... when running a race, you have 2 ways to beat an opponent.... you can try to trip him up and make him fall down, or you can simply try to run faster than the other guy....

Spike hasn't made a major movie in years. Yet, he keeps his name in the media by criticizing other directors.

If he has the perfect formula or can make a superior movie, he has the right to do so. To me, thats what he should be doing, not criticizing the work of other directors.

Spikes problem is, his last movie barely made 10 million on a budget of 50 million and that money came from some italians... so i imagine he's in so much debt now to the mafia and figures he needs money and fast....
 
Y'all do know that Spike Lee is public enemy #1 because he spoke about honoring black folks.

That shit can't be tolerated in any way, shape, form or fashion.

Spike Criticized the work of T Perry, Q. Tarantino and C. Eastwood. Spike aspects of their work that he finds unsettling. I do too.

Uh... you miss my point.... Spike can make movies too.... let him make "more" movies that suit his taste instead of "criticizing" other directors work. It makes more sense than simply being an "arm chair" quarterback.

I watch football but I don't make it a point to tell them how to play the game. I have my "opinions" but I know is I am a fan....

The reality is, the movies and themes are based on public response.

If spike was makin movies that generated a large response and made money, I can garuntee there would be many others made from the "exact" same themes. Thats how hollywood works....

Your analogy is flawed when applied to Spike Lee.

Spike Lee is a film maker.

Spike Lee is an University Advisor and Teacher at New York University.

He is very qualified to speak on any movie ever made.

How can he be associated with being an arm chair quarterback?

He is a professional film maker.
