Raised in Queens Michael Todd Tirico grew up in a middle-class Italian family in Queens, about a five-minute drive from Shea Stadium.
I don't know what the make-up of his neighborhood in Queens was but I imagine that he was raised around a bunch of Italians and in that era his mother would rather just make up some BS and hope he could pass instead of living with the Scarlet Letter that she liked brothers.
Mike suspects he has black blood thus he doesn't fight it or resist the reference. He speaks at minority events. he accepts being called black.

Some mixed people with biracial parents have the ability to "pass" as it used to be called. We had a thread on here awhile back listing mainly celebs that most people probably never knew were black or mixed with black and some other ethnicity.
Guess some of y'all haven't seen many Sicilians... anyway Sicilians many of which have plenty of African blood because of General Hannibal.
