We're due to return to the office next Monday (3/7)... 50% remote so I'll likely be there 3 days a week.

Masks still mandatory -- for now -- but it seems like they're following the city guidance and mirroring whatever Big Gov is pushing.. so it should be interesting:

They're determined to act as if shit is back to normal. As if there is nothing to see here and nothing to worry about.

Capitalism boy. It's got to feed itself and it seems as if it need your blood to do it

For sure. At this point I kind of know what I'm dealing with so I plan on handling it the best I can to keep my sanity and still get mine.

I got some stuff in the works down the line here as far as switching up my career trajectory a bit, so I'm resigned to doing my thing, being at work to WORK, and that's all they're getting from me. Not that I was too entrenched with the social aspects of the job in the first place (beyond working well as a team when needed, training, and generally not being a dick), but this whole deal has made lots of folks (esp black folks) see the bigger picture (myself included).

Just keeping my eye on the prize and looking out for myself first.

Been back in office full time since November but other depts have been hybrid but all are “supposed” to be back next month. They want everyone back in asap especially since we are set to move to new building that is finish up later this yr. They spent crazy money building huge location and want people back in

Sounds like my place of employment but they are keeping us hybrid...4 days a month of your choosing.

Still sucks

I’m cool with being back in office except now we support remote workers and in office workers so people coming for you from both directions. What really sucks is realizing I have not bought new clothes in 2 years my look is mad dated and slim. Seriously considering buying 7 pair of black slacks and 10 plain polos and making my own work uniform tired of morning dressing and grooming. Thinking about cutting my fro off… Too much work to make it “corporate comfortable” every morning

Our office was such a toxic environment. So glad when I was able to come home to work.

I've been working from home for the past 5 years and been back in the office like 3 times total. I'm in and out of the bitch.

Too much drama w/ all the crazy bitches that work in that office.

Right now we are 2 days in the office 2 days at home for the people working 4 days a week. For the people that work 5 days are on a rotation of 3 days in the office one week 2 days the next. From what we were told we no longer have enough room for everyone even with the additional space we rented since we've expanded a lot so we will continue the rotation with no permanent desk where different teams are in the office different days. I wish we could work from home everyday but I can take 2 days I guess.

They just had us clean out our desks last week. They are going to downsize to a much smaller office space for the idiots who still want to come into work every day, including my boss' boss who drives 45 minutes (he lives as far as I do)

I'm still working from home til they make me go back. Fuck driving 45 minutes each way, especially as much as gas costs

I'm on a compressed schedule. 9 hr days M- Thursday on the first week with an 8 hr day on Friday

9 hr days M - Thursday and every payday Friday off. Still adds up to 80 hours but I get a free day off every 2 weeks so I have 164 hours of leave, not including sick leave

Advertising agencies are still cool with remote or hybrid models. Most agencies are asking people to come in no more than 2 days out of the week. Even a lot of the major companies are still remote. I know that Pfizer is going to ask their marketing people to come in on Wednesdays so that everyone is in at the same time so they can work together.

Man, that commute is like a life tax. 1:30 minutes a day just pissed away. :smh: And people do that shit for years. Over 7 fucking hours a week just gone in just 5 days. And with Ohio weather, the winter brings even more time tax. And people do that shit for years.

Americans not only work themselves to death. They commute themselves to death. God forbid 'joe average' get some time back before 65.

Sometimes the commute itself is worse than the job. Dealing with traffic, parking, gas prices, car maintenance, snow shoveling, etc etc etc.

I'm older with several handicaps. Coming to work is a bitch.

Are your jobs capable of being work from home indefinitely?

It's hot as hell in this office though smh.
Still home most days of the week

They're trying hard. Might win since far too many people have miserable lives at home. Plus the busy-body boomer types who can't grasp how people can be productive without a commute.

In the office 1-2 times a week which started in March
Job is pretty flexible but there has been quite a bit of turnover. In the last month have lost 3 team members. Turnover is high in the industry overall but management may need to reconsider if the return to work requirement is a factor

I would prefer to be remote indefinitely but can’t complain too much for having to come in once or twice a week

I’m in Informatics and still 100% remote, I’ll have to eventually go to two days a month for live classes if I’m teaching, but this virtual work has our productivity up 300%.
I’m waiting to see what our market raise and performance raise looks like, I’m considering going back to consulting if the money isn’t right.
