there are so many that i'd have to take some time to think about them all, but the first one that comes to mind was clicking on NinjaspiT's ***Official Alternative Natural Health/Food/Bodybuilding Thread*** thread back in 2009.

this thread changed my life in so many ways, i'd need an adding machine to add them all up!

i am literally a new person since going 100 percent raw!! :dance:

The usual software, music, and movies. But BGOL has put me up on other shit way it before it became mainstream. I first heard of The Weeknd on here way before anyone knew who that motherfucker was. The wonders of shea butter. Molecule 01 and Dior Homme Intense cologne. How to lose 40 pounds in 60 days. Backpage hoes. All kinds of shit really. And a lot of shit I've wanted to pursue but never have, like the traveling and business threads, or that shit that eeewll did to help create the bluntbit website.

But, BGOL has put me on some bullshit as well. I still recall Rocky and some other members raving about Bayonetta, like that game would be some next-level shit. It wasn't. :angry::lol:
 
I have literally made a business and a career out of the software I have gotten off of bgol the past 12+ years or so. I have no college degree but by getting software off of here for years and taking the time to learn them I make money from a successful business and work as a software web developer making 100k+.. So yeah I would say the donation amount each year is well worth it..

Plus not too mention the random advice about cars,travel and etc I get on bgol is priceless..

I've learned a lot from the members here... A lot of shit I wouldn't have found or gained knowledge of otherwise!

I learned a few things... & have shared a few..
How to fix build computers& made money.
How to burn DVDs & made money.
I Dnt spend money to go to the movies nor pay for cable. ( save money)
I have a tb of music... Only because I haven't purchased a bigger hd.
I've discovered free online education opportunities.
Received excellent direction / information on how to proceed in business ventures.
Starting another business based on info I got here.
All the free software & info on how to use it! ( made money)

The news cycle here is usually 2 days ahead of what we see on tv & hear about on the radio.. I think the information cycle here took a serious blow when this became a paid forum. Granted this shit was like the frack game in 86 mixed with wild Wild West
Wild cowboy shit going down daily..... But there was a larger influx of information coming thru here.

A lot of ppl hit me up via pm about how to duplicate my eyebrow & make up biz... Or haves asked me extensive questions about make up...
I've always provided as much detail & step by step direction as possible!

I've posted other members works on other sites with their permission or I've told them after & provided links do they can see the feedback..

It seems like even if you Dnt get along with a member in threads.... Doing business never gets in the way of what happens in a thread... Ppl can link up & make money w/o even mentioning the bullshit... I think that's really cool!

There's a lot of smart ppl here & all the information you need to make it in any spect of life can be found here..... There is no reason for any member to be broke or stuck in a dead end job ..... On some real shit.... @least 65% of the ppl here should be small business owners.

It would be incredible if there was some way for us to all contribute money in a way that made it possible for us to borrow a set amount to start a service oriented business as a collective. I know some ppl might not be able to get past their personal beefs but if they could & if that could happen..... We would / could be an amazing global force of black men & women in all aspects of business/ business ownership, education, research, job creators, social commentary, & entertaient.

a large part of my music and movie collection came from here which saved me a ton of money. Audiobooks, shit. A lotta stuff

slut, the advice that I have gotten, and have given to others. Lessons learned through members experiences has taught me a lot. it is not what it was because of the diminished quality of people and most of the legends either leaving or going into straight lurker mode, but I still check it everyday

There's something for everyone here, and tens of thousands of people have registered as members throughout the '90s and '00s. i learned to cut my own hair thx to a thread from 10 years ago (prior to youtube),, i've saved a lot of time & money since then
 
I could go on and on and on. The software is amazing. The movies and music and new and information is incredible. Oh man the comedy is the best. Also some of the smartest and most clever people I've had the pleasure to observe and engage. I have friends and family on here to this day. BlackLS430 is owed at least a bottle of Johny Walker blue, two prepaid stripper ho's and I'll do an oil change and tune up myself.
