How exactly should the Democrats message and what strategy should they employ to regain position in upcoming elections and governing?

It's easy to point out what they're doing wrong...but what should they be doing that's right and in line with what voters want and what kind of values should they be promoting and advocating?

Republicans and Trump understand that politics is a sales position, not a teaching position. Republicans said, let me tailor some lies addressing what people care about. Dems said, let me cater a message about what people SHOULD care about. If you go to a car dealership and one salesman asks you what kind of care you want while the other one tells you he knows better than you what kind of car you need, you're going to go with the one that is listening to you.

Dems have been trying since the Mueller report to force people to care about these things. And it hasn't worked. To this very day, people are not paying any attention to any of the court stuff, due process, judges, none of it. To win in the midterms, Dems are going to need to focus on the things the voters care about and not the things the political class cares about. Dems still think people aren't paying attention because they don't knwo what's going on. Instead of accepting the fact that people don't know what't going on because they don't care.

It's about winning votes, not about being right.

So how do you win over people that don't care, or care about basic right/wrong from a moral POV??? Real shit... If people only give a fuck about an issue or 2, and everybody left on the bench got a different issue. With some of those issues possibly being diametrically opposed to each other. What message you really gonna put out there that will be effective at getting apathetic people to vote for you??? It's like people telling Dems to have better messaging, appeal to a larger swath of the population while not turning off the other people that vote for you, be perfect and we might vote for you. Meanwhile other side got loyal voters that's gonna vote regardless and been doing it for decades. Thats how they win. They in lock step and Dems keep losing ground cause everybody on this side wanna feel special. Little by little them muthafuckas methodically got they people im position to do exactly what they doing now. We want a slice, brown folks wanna slice, LGBT wanna slice, feminists wanna slice, environmentalists wanna slice, small business wanna slice, liberal elites wanna slice, young people wanna slice, unions wanna slice, cities, rural towns errrrrbody want deliverables from 1 side, while the other aint getting shit but still gone vote. If they keep winning aimt nobody getting shit. But... Do better Dems. Long winded and I'm kinda just rambling. But this shit feel hopeless.

Think of all the shit Dems have passed, the CHIPS act, the infrastructure bill, build back better, and what do most people remember and talk about more than all of them? That $300 stimulus during Covid.

Put money in people's pockets.

Give them some immediate benefits they can see right away - not some shit that will come online in 5 years.

Dems can either try to win by dealing with the electorate we have or lose trying to change the voters into who we want them to be.

Most people hate politics, have no interest in paying attention to political things, and aren't going to be forced to pay attention. That's just the facts.

Noam Chomsky said todays republican party is no longer a mainstream political party but is now a radical insurgency. Tough to fight that when you are just a regular political party and your supporters are not zealots (for the most part).

The Dems can definitely do better but they are handicapped. On one hand Repubs just care about winning and are willing to fuck shit up just to own the Dems. Dems are a typical political party and their supporters won't outwardly support that. The other issue is the system aint shit and the Dems are a part of that system. So the Dems will do things that benefit the people but only up to the point where it doesn't offend the ruling class.

Its tough man. Plus, Trump is a master manipulator. In his first term, CNN couldn't help falling into the trap of being seen as not objective and anti-Trump just because of how aggressively he came at them. Even now, Dems are being played into looking like they are going all out for a dude who could be a MS 13 gang member, facts be damned.

Dems just lost an election where the voters said their top priorities were, the economy, crime, and deporting immigrants.

In the six months since, Dems have refused to talk about the economy and crime and are dying on the hill of bringing an illegal immigrant back to the country. This is why so many Dems sat home the last election.

Why vote for a party that won't even listen to you? That's too busy trying to force you to care about what they want you to?

The problem is as more progressives join the party the more each individual groups demands and agendas come into play. The concerns of the LGBTQ community is seen with great annoyance by other communities even as everyone has gay and trans in their own families. And the concerns of the black community is met with this face by other groups in the party because who gives a fuck about what black Americans think or feel.

But this is the problem that comes with having a big tent. Different agendas tend to clash. The GOP doesn't have that problem because they largely congregate under one ideology social and fiscal conservativism to the point where people like gays submit their own agenda to serve the republican party. The charge for gay marriage and equality was led by liberals and progressives....not conservatives. Yet conservative gays benefited anyway. And then they vote trump in.

So the messaging from the Dems is scatter shot because they're trying to accommodate many different often clashing agendas.

The Dems as the party of openness and inclusivity have a conflict the GOP doesn't have because a conservative tenant is exclusivity.

Name another political party that requires it's members to qualify to join them rather than saying what can we do to earn your support??

#1. closing the wealth gap in America. its important to understand reality. in 1865 in America whites owned and or controlled almost 100% of the wealth in this country. we owned or controlled literally nothing. In 160 years we have built trillions in personal and business wealth but its so one sided. Our billionaires and millionaires own all the wealth,unlike whites who have a middle class with 10s of millions with a net worth between $250k-$999k. we dont have that and thats a product of never getting reparations to compensate our people who 250 years of building this country from scratch. Reparations paid to Black Americans whether they call themselves ADOS or FBA or FREEDMAN will allow those of us who are already ahead to help pull our people outta the conditions of the last 400+years.

#2 saving this country once again. Black people have to save this nation or else it will implode and become a missed opportunity for humanity. we hold the key to innovation,creation,morality,invention and many more but our lack of resources has caused us to become lazy,immoral,trifling,ghetto,hood ratish and acting and living just like THEM(look at European history to see how they lived before they were taught by the Moors). reparations would allow the true leaders of Black America to guide and mold our brighest smartest young people to fullfill their greatness.reparations would open up inovation in America for all of us whites included and allow us to try and catch up and compete with China. we got to become creators and not just consumers if we stand any chance and the key to that is us always has been and always will be

A man that knows hot to communicate with non political people. That understands the needs of average, low information voters. That connects with people.

The message needs to be that THEY are his priority. Not his own pet projects, not his own policy ideas. That we wants to listen to them and will do whatever he can to help them.

He needs to have some immediate, easy to understand policies that will help - i.e. back to school tax credit of $200 per child to help pay for school clothes.

Has to be closer to the electorate on immigration and crime - this will upset some on the far left, but we're trying to win elections, and they have proven they are great at losing them.

Has to be relatable and someone people trust.
