It looks like it could be a decent at home Bluray rental with some laughs behind it ....

But when you Throw the Name House Party behind it and say it's a reboot .... Kats are going to have expectations and like you said...

I totally agree. Just call it something else and move on. It's not an absolute horrible movie, but giving it tge house party name sets unattainable expectations.

They do not have a kid n play equivalent.

They do not have a Robin Harris equivalent.

They do not have a full force equivalent

They do not have a Martin Lawrence equivalent

And They definitely do not have a Tisha Cambell and A.J Johnson in their prime equivalent.

Too many unplanned and unprovoked things came together which made the original movie so iconic.

And they definitely can't replace this..........

A movie was made allegedly using the same title.. than kid and play were tricked to making an appearance on the vid by telling them it was for the make a wish foundation.. they thought they were doing charity not knowing people were using their likeliness to create a film.. this is my story and I’m sticking to it.. there is no house party 5 or 4
