Hillary To Attend State Of Black America

Bruh, before you take this conversation with dude too much further, check these posts out and his responses. Dude tries to play "objective" but he has a wicked personal problem with this black man stepping out of place....

This is my personal favorite quote from this cat, says all I really needed to know about him...

We've had "discussions" before. He didn't go daddy warbucks/scottm on me but his priorities and ethics are somewhat jumbled.

Any black man who claims to care about his people(black people) and thinks this bullshit forum will make a difference is nuts.

A black liberal president who doesn't fuck interns and agrees to follow the constitution is worth way more than a white political hack cunt who will disproportionately send our babies around the world to fight people over commodities that we will never see dollar one from.

I really wish that Farrakhan could be there...that shit would be PRICELESS.

I think Tavis Smiley has beef with Minister Farrakhan for not going along with the premise of that "Covenant With Black America" book they put out. Remember he said that the book "demonstrated our impotence" because we were still begging whites for something.

The next time the camera turned to Tavis he was hot as a 357 that had just been fired. So I figured that they wouldn't be inviting Farrakhan to any more forums.

im happy to know people are going out of their way to belittle what i say...

don't talk to him, he makes too much sense.

i have a "wicked personal problem" with people giving obama a pass, you're absolutely right..

but at the same time, people aren't voting for obama the person...

reread the highlighted quote, people i deal with on an everyday basis in my career, which is producing live events, political forums....i said that

this year alone i've done 5 or 6 union based general sessions and people are debating who they should go behind, the sentiment is he's a great speaker, but where's the beef?

i agree he's a great speaker, but a great speaker a president doesn't make

i'm sure if i typed all this with a 20 post count i would have been dismissed as a FTP, im sure somebody in the background is working on it...need any help? let me know..
Just because you and other Shillary supporters make erroneous claims does not make them true.

You can run up to a burning building and yell "Where's the fire?" and it doesn't mean shit.

Claiming Obama has no position on issues is fuckery. Try going to his website and looking for them. If you can;t find more position info than you can read thoroughly in one day within 5 minutes then I submit you are retarded or blind with no good accessibility software.

Why don't you tell us how you're a gynecologist and Hillary's hymen is intact?

I dont give a fuck if you DJ parties on K2. Your bullshit anecdotes about how a group of supposedly adult, politically aware, union members can't figure out a presidential nominee's position on anything is total fuckin hogwash. Are you trying to let us know youre lying, you and your union folks are dipshits, you and your union folks are Shillary Fanboys or what?

Belonging to a union doesn't make one politically savvy. I'd argue the opposite is true since they are manipulated and marginalized so well nowadays.

Holdingt political rallies, organizing them or whatever you claim you do does not make you politically savvy or make your vitriol accurate.

I'm not saying you and your union heads aren't intelligent. I'm just saying your argument is beyond weak and the details you think lend credibility to your remarks - dont.

Right his "where's the beef?" stance is a lazy passive one that insists that, "until we see Obama's stances articulated ad nauseum in the mass media, we're just gonna assume he has no substance."

One would think any intellectually curious black taxpayer would take it upon themselves to find out the man's track record, platform and positions in the Information Age--given that he's the last man standing.

What it comes off as is someone looking for excuses not to support the black candidate.

You dont know Obama's positions because you dont want to know.

How hard is it to Google, Wikipedia or type www.barackobama.com and find out?

I don't know about all that. The SOBA is held the same time as the muslims annual convention in Chicago that's why he said his piece and then left.

fuck the Clintons!!!

I don't understand what you're talking about brother. I was right and exact in how I laid out what went down. I didn't address Farrakhan leaving....I said that Tavis Smiley was upset with Farrakhan because Farrakhan didn't agree with the premise of the "Covenant with Black America" book. Thats an actual fact.

Now if your saying that you think that Tavis didn't invite Farrakhan this year because of Savior's Day....thats up for debate. But in my opinion, Tavis...Cornell....and Belafonte were speaking kind of wreckless after Minister Farrakhan left....downplaying what Farrakhan was saying and trying to make the book seem relevant....so I'm not sure that they would want him back on their so that he can address them.

wait..why do any of you assume that because i'm not jumping on the obama bandwagon, that i'm jumping on the hillary one?

fucking idiots....it's not one or the other!

makk, you really bore me with your "let me say anything nonsensical because it doesn't fit into my personal agenda" politics, seriously grow up

in the words of public enemy's own..DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!

and for those who say, go to obama's website...

if i have to hit tab after tab to find the man's basic positions on issues that involve and mine, why the fuck should i vote for him?

that's weak

Tab after tab?

Yeah that is weak. Its weak to complain about the duress of having to click buttons to decide your position on who will be the next leader of the free world.

Shit, niggas stand in line for hours for bread and water in the third world.

You dont wanna click a few buttons to make an informed vote in choosing between

a) BushClintonClintonBushBushClinton :hmm:

b) a younger, more dynamic politician with a background in constitutional law, community organizing, civil rights and progressivism--who coincidentally would be the first non-white male President in 232 years?

Gee all these heavy tabs I have to click

C'mon man...WEAK is the perfect word.

I don't disagree. The whole internet saw it go down and how silly it looked. I don't know for a fact if Tavis has "beef" or not. Really I couldn't give a shit if he did because Farrakhan has been laid down the answer for all this bullshit.

The year before that one at Eddie Longs church he asked the people what good is a contract with a person who doesn't intend to honor their end of it?

We on the same page. Every year I check for Savors Day (Chi town knows what up) the SOBA started off good, but now its like the activist version of def comedy jam. Everybody trying to get the most applause lines out.

THIS IS WHY I SUPPORT HER. SHE RESPECTS BLACK PEOPLE AND WOULD DO GOOD BY US. BARACK WOULD NOT HAVE COME, BUT NOW I AM SURE THAT HE WILL YA'LL BLIND AS A MUTHAF**KA.

I don't think you are a Hillary supporter. I think you are angry with Obama for not knowing his place. You aren't alone, there are PLENTY of black folks doing the EXACT SAME THING. Like you said...

"He's going to do more to hurt race relations that help"

That says it all. Same shit a lot of black folks said about MLK. You may not admit it, but you are sitting somewhere right now TERRIFIED that Obama is gonna "stir shit up" and get white folks mad at you. You're dong what a certain segment of black folks have been doing for centuries in this country, flying under the radar and you resent the hell out of black folks that draw attention your way.

Van Allen and jdog share your anger, Daddy Warbucks just wants attention form other men.

None of B is enough for YOU.

After eight years of a man tearing down sacred Constitutional rights like habeas corpus, I very much would like to see the next President show more respect for the constitution.

I think its telling that this went completely over your head. Sad really.

i'm not angry with obama, i'm angry with the powers that decided obama would be the chosen one, i think you're giving obama way too much credit. he didn't put himself in power, hell he was going to lose to jack ryan in the IL senate race. but the powers that be made sure he got his easy slide into victory against alan keyes, a much weaker opponent. since then, he's been pushed into this super negro position. he didn't put himself there, what? with his mediocre voting record? nigga please!!

this is beyond some hope and yes we can propoganda. any other time, we'd be heavily weighing the pro's and con's...but not this time??

you're right, i'm terrified we're being bamboozled and sitting back and being happy about it.

:hmm:

Man....I don't give 2 fucks about whether Billary OR Barack goes to the SOBU. Hillary is only going to she can plead her case to Black folks. And the only ones willing to listen are those in have a vested interest in her getting elected (not to mention those who are just house negroes.)

It befuddles the fuck out me how anyone could see how the Clintons race baited in S.C. and would still consider voting for them. That's what really trips me the fuck out. The Black masses saw it, and that's why Barack gets 80+% of the Black vote now. The so-called Black "leaders" know that if Hillary gets elected that it benefits them politically and financially, so even though they've seen the fuckery, they still want to lead Black folks to slaughter. Well, fuck Billary and fuck them, too.

Barack shouldn't even consider going to SOBU, just as he didn't go last year. Fuck those bastards. And as much as I like and respect Dr. Cornel West, he was wrong for laying the groundwork for people to mistrust Obama by somehow suggesting that by not coming to SOBU that he was somehow dismissing Black people. My people....sometimes I just don't fucking get it..

you're right, i'm terrified we're being bamboozled and sitting back and being happy about it.

:hmm:

Right because Black folks always assume the worst about each other.

Did you have this level of fear about being bamboozled by any other presidential candidate?

Have you made ANY inquires into his record, even after post after post and link after link on this board, easily accessible even now with a mere search?

Or have you just decided out of cynicism and fear that this is a sneaky trick and fuck any evidence otherwise? You know terror is an EMOTION used to manipulate people for centuries.

Fear can be overcome with rational thinking. You could clear up your fear with info in a 1/2 hour.

:hmm:

You've been in Washington WAYYYYYYYYYY too long homie.

OK...I gotcha bruh! As far as the "beef" thing....mannnn I could see it in Tavis' eyes.....I just saw a petty-ness in him.........I knew then and there that Farrakhan wouldn't be attending the 2008 forum. But like you said....I don't know it for SURE.....but instinctively speaking I think that Tavis is that petty. And seeing how he's been handling Obama......you know its like if your not going along with his program he has a beef with you. But we'll see......

To tell you the truth. I don't think anyone, not even the candidates, can really spot a major difference. I can't fault people for being drawn to him because of his race (same for Hillary with women). But let's be fair. I doubt most of BGOL would be supporting Michael Steele in an election. There has to be some policy or point they, Obama and his supporters, agree on. I support Obama and recognize Hillary as an outstanding candidate but now I'm looking at foreign policy and electability. And Barack is winning in those departments. Hillary just unites the Republicans even with McCain as the nominee. Especially after her (or her campaign's) stunt in South Carolina, I can see why people have turned against her. The Latino/Black firewall and Bill's comments were uncalled for.

you're right, i'm terrified we're being bamboozled and sitting back and being happy about it.

Some of y'all couldn't live in countries with 90%-95% black populations. Everything would creep you out. A brother in the White House is a great achievement. Just like Connie Rice being Sec. of State is a great achievement.

it's funny you'd say that, i don't have a blanket hate for obama, contrary to what most sheep on here believe, i don't just represent myself, i take these same conversations to the barber shop, to my workplace, to social meetings, i'm supporting donna edwards for al wynn's seat...i definately take it there...

the evidence doesn't support this being a self made rise to power, you can lie to yourself all you want to, it just doesn't..

i'd venture to say, less than 10% of people on here can even tell you who their local political candidates are....

just because you do this with your eyes closed, doesn't mean i do..

To tell you the truth. I don't think anyone, not even the candidates, can really spot a major difference.

The major difference to me is that Hillary Clinton is a liar....both her and Bill. I've seen her lie too many times this election season to be able to morally cast a vote for her.

Another thing about her is that she makes decisions based on popular opinion (demonstrated by her war vote) and the direction her financial backers point her in.....this to me makes her spineless and lacking a moral backbone.

Also, what do we as African Americans think that the Clinton's will do that they didn't have a chance to do in the 90's? They took more than they ever gave to Black America. I don't even want to go over Bill Clinton's record....but there's a reason why some people say he was the best "republican" president we've ever had.

One thing we can't say about Obama is that he doesn't have some level of morality. And by the way he's run his campaign....you would be a fool to not think that this man has the capacity to improve the country.

Some of us say that there is "no difference" in the plans....the DIFFERENCE in the plans is the person putting the plan forward. Who can be trusted to deliver on the plans?

Barrack Obama has displayed good moral character and if it can be done I believe that he will do as he says....Hillary on the other hand....I wouldn't trust her as far as I can throw her.

Its too bad you can't read. That's cool if you're not for Shillary or whoever. Obama isn't perfect by any means. But all that shit youre talking is still shit. If you think Obama has no positions because of how he starts and stops some speeches or because of his commercials then you are deceiving yourself.

Generalizations about what you think people know about his positions is more bullshit. For someone so surrounded by politics you seem pretty oblivious to reality.

I agree but on overall policy they aren't that different. Audio was talking about that and I disagreed. There's no doubt in my mind Obama is the more stand up individual. I think Obama will be better in actually doing things because the Repugs will vote against anything Hillary wants, not Hillary's fault entirely but it's the truth. Both have to deliver but you're right Obama has a better chance of actually executing his plans, the health care package being one.

Yall want a major difference?

Lobby money

or how about the fact Obama signed a pledge to uphold the constitution if he's president while Hillary refused

or how about Hillary not admitting Iraq was a MISTAKE

or how about Hillary being willing to hit your paycheck for health insurance against your will

or how about Obama's action plan for the disabled

The shit goes on and on. Claiming Obama has no substance is a claim without substance.
Whether or not he will live up to his pledges is another argument but claiming he isn't about shit via his word or declarations is total moronic fuckery.

this "you can't read" nonsense is really getting old too, questioning logic, reasoning because of what amounts to a difference of opinion is getting old. this message board isn't an accurate representation of reality. reality is, your candidate and the opposition are neck and neck, there is no landslide victory and wont be, this is hard faught politics and on this board, it might as well change to obamaboysandgirlsforimaginarychange.com

and that's the right of the members of the board to do that, have fun with it.

of all the candidates remaining in the race, i don't care for ANY of them. there's an opportunity for a 3rd party candidate to still enter the race, it's not likely at this point but its an option.

the "powers" are the DNC obviously, the democratic establishment and the cadre who opposes anything the clinton administration started or stood for.

the republican establishment, the project for a new american century, the list goes on and on...

why is it that, we can have 2 elections stolen consecutively and people think the 3rd time is equal, fair, unbiased and fully inclusive? who really has flawed logic??

we're done though...

why is it that, we can have 2 elections stolen consecutively and people think the 3rd time is equal, fair, unbiased and fully inclusive? who really has flawed logic??

we're done though...
That's what's really up but if you only make arguments that are the same invalid ones campaigns use how is anyone supposed to tell you apart from various fanboys?
Its some ol
"You can have anything you want to eat, as long as it is this hotdog or this hamburger."
Most of the people here dont see that forest for those trees. People aren't hurting enough for real change to occur.

I totally agree, I stopped watching it when FARRAKHAN SHUT IT DOWN: "DON'T INTEGRATE INTO A BURNING HOUSE, LET IT BURN...."

Yeah, the shits like Disney now...over produced and sponsored, next year they'll have the State of Black America action figures...

I WAS THERE WHEN HE SHUT IT DOWN
THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT TO BE SAID.
SAD TO SAY THE WHOLE SHIT HAS BECOME A JOKE.:hmm:

CO SIGNAGE to the FULLEST, you are on point with this verbal joint

Yeah, man, I would have loved to feel the energy of that crowd that day, I only heard the raucous cheers on C-SPAN for what Farrakhan was saying. You're right SOBA has jumped the shark, unfortunately. Too bad they don't refuse corporate sponsorship and then invite the more radical elements of the Black community in for a real discussion of where we are heading as Black folks.

How bout obama saying yes to the patriot act instead of letting it die.

How about obama saying bush hasnt committed any grave wrong doings.

How bout obama voting against immediate troop withdrawing?

I just cannot take a man seriously when every BGOL'er knows bush has violated many laws, international and national.

I cannot take a man seriously, when we know 9/11 could have been stopped with current tools of law enforcement and no patriot act, modified or otherwise is needed.(we all know how law enforcment uses crooked tactics to get legit info, its just hey way it is. A legal upgrade makes for police state).

how dare you lump me in with others that don't remotely share my views.

i'm not angry with obama, i'm angry with the powers that decided obama would be the chosen one, i think you're giving obama way too much credit. he didn't put himself in power, hell he was going to lose to jack ryan in the IL senate race. but the powers that be made sure he got his easy slide into victory against alan keyes, a much weaker opponent. since then, he's been pushed into this super negro position. he didn't put himself there, what? with his mediocre voting record? nigga please!!

what cost does this presidency have on US? nobody seems to have the least bit suspicion that this man comes out of NOWHERE and is suddenly qualified and accepted to be the potential leader of the free world?

we got nooses being hung in 2007 and people truly think we're that far past overt racism that a black man can be president in 2007? are you on drugs??

this is beyond some hope and yes we can propoganda. any other time, we'd be heavily weighing the pro's and con's...but not this time??

you're right, i'm terrified we're being bamboozled and sitting back and being happy about it.

:hmm:
then the white man is not so smart. anybody with common sense can tell you, whether propoganda or not, a black as president would uplift public opinion on blacks and spirit in black children.
whats your alternative? an old white cunt who would be partisan and lose in the general election? you seem to forget there are only two choices in the democrat party left, so downplaying one is supporting the other. If you dont like neither of them, go republican. too bad theres only mccain. if you dont like him, too bad, shut the fuck up because all the rants you make on boards is not going to change the fact one of the three will be elected.

A white feminist has no place at the State of Black America.
Just days ago she discredited MLK and she's been throwing race jabs at Barack Obama who has a chance to be the first black president.
I have a lot of respect for Tavis Smiley but but she doesn't belong.

Of all the Obama doubters, I respect your and Black HHH's posts the most.

At least you've reviewed his record in making your decision, whether I agree with your conclusion or not.

I do hope you will cast a vote tho even if it is a write-in.
