This a matter of semantics. You state that a fetus is not a baby until it is born. This is simply pro-choice terminology to keep people from acknowledging that what is inside the womb is a living thing. However, as a medical professional, and yes, I am a medical professional, we do consider embryos and fetuses living beings, as do every credible medical establishment in the world. In fact, we are taught in embryology that the embryonic stage is just that, a stage in the development of a baby.
From the Cleveland Clinic: Your
baby will be called an
embryo from conception until the eighth week of development. After the eighth week,
the baby will be called a
fetus.
Actually, it is 8 weeks. And to echo the Cleveland Clinic, a fetus is a baby. The terms embryo and fetus are simply developmental stages of a baby/ human. Just like puberty and menopause are stages.
This information is incorrect. The viability of an embryo depends on a multitude of factors and the rate has consistently improved over time. There was a time when an 8-month-old fetus was not considered viable. However, due to technology and medical advancements survival rates have improved drastically. In fact in Japan, the survival rate for a fetus of 22 weeks gestational weeks is over 50%. Scientists are working on artificial wombs which would allow embryos and fetuses to develop outside of the mother's womb. This could essentially become an option for fathers when the woman has decided that she does not want to carry the child and would otherwise choose an abortion.
One shouldn't consider the use of facts right-wing terminology. You are correct, I am being purposefully provocative. My hope is to provoke someone who is reading through these posts to think in a broader context.
We have already established that an abortion results in the death of a fetus. We have established that a fetus is a developmental stage of a baby. To kill means to end the life of a living thing. A baby is a living thing.
No rational person would agree with this statement. A fact can always stand alone. What you are asking for is additional support of facts. For example, Water has a molecular weight of 18g/mol. This is a fact. You can not accept that. So, you ask for justification and support of this fact, what you call context. Even if I do not provide details such as at STP, water has a density of 998.2 grams/Liter calculated from two moles of Hydrogens and one mole of oxygen which allows us to calculate the molar mass, the fact remains that the molecular weight of water is 18g/mol.
Frome the Cleveland Clinic: Delusional disorder, previously called paranoid disorder, is a type of serious mental illness — called a “psychosis”— in which a person
cannot tell what is real from what is imagined. The main feature of this disorder is
unshakable beliefs in something untrue.
Everything that I have shared is 100% factual. You can research everything that was presented. In fact, I always encourage people to look up things for themselves to verify. With all due respect, I would argue that you may have self-diagnosed yourself. This is not a diss or attempt to shade you, it is just an observation.
- anecdote - a short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person.
- fact - a thing that is known or proved to be true.
Again, you are asking for a "Why" to a fact. Not providing a "Why" does not negate the fact. It just means you have to either provide facts that are contrary to the aforementioned facts. However, I will entertain your request slightly. We can take our pick of national elections. Fact: no Republican or Independent presidential candidate has received more than 13% of the black vote. This statistic is similar to local and state elections. This can be verified by a simple Google search of election statistics.
Despite my stance regarding abortion, I have never stated that I am against people choosing. I do not smoke cigarettes, yet I support people's decision to smoke if they wish. If people choose to kill babies because it may inconvenience their lives, go right ahead. I do not agree, but they can choose. I do not agree with the idea of transgender, especially as it pertains to minors. However, it is their choice to live that way and I would never infringe on that right. There is a difference in not agreeing or supporting an issue or belief and preventing a person from exercising their right to choose.
