"HBO's Disgusting Coverage of De La Hoya v. Mayweather" By R. Littal BSO.com

Thank You finally someone with some sense.
DLH's career was already defined you look at his victories and its a "who's who" of the best boxers in era.
PBF won the fight... but he failed to "impress". Everyone knows that DLH is past his prime... PBF needed to "dominate' DLH to really prove that he was a better champion.

Plus it is easy to understand why there was a bias during the announcing of the fight. DLH has fought and beat the best ... and has been the "people's champ" for over 15 years. DLH has always been "respectful" on camera.

On the other hand PBF has acted like a total NIGGA ever since been on the scene. IF you guys have watched the HBO documentary on the behind the scenes fight stuff..... it is VERY HARD to root for PBF because he acts like such a NIGGA.

Co-sign.
The problem is that people get too caught up in the announcers. Form your own opinion. If you watch enough boxing you know what to look for. Who cares about what the announcers say. You should know who won the fight. I am a De La fan but I know that Mayweather won because he was clearly the better boxer in the later rounds. However up to that point it was all too close. De La faded as he always does due to lack of stamina. Proving it was not the runaway fight that some claim. For those to claim that (Mayweather included), it shows extreme bias on their part.

One more thing, I still dont know why they use Cumpubox. Compubox's stats can be some of the most bs stats given in a fight. I have seen that fight three times since last night and there is no way Mayweather outpunched De LA Hoya 2 to 1. Also Compubox doesnt take into account punches being blacked. There was plenty of defense on both fighters to have that number of landed punches reduced. I still thought it was a great fight. A rematch is in the cards.

I think this post shows the difference between fight fans and boxing fans shows the difference between fight fans, and Boxing fans.

Fight fans figure Mayweather was dodging and running..
Boxing Fans recognized Mayweather's ability to use defense to win fights that's been his MO since the beginning.

Fight Fans say this was boring because there wasn't offensive trades
Boxing fans say this was entertaining because the subtle aspects pf the sport were shown.

Personally, I think this was all some BS and that Mayweather will probably not retire, and go on to sign with Golden Boy Promotion for at least 4 or more fights. However there was some BS going on with the commentating, it was really pro De la Hoya not so much negative Mayweather. I think this fight would have been more entertaining if Mayweather had a real opponent. I don't see De la Hoya as a credible challenger now. I think Maywether only needs about 3 or 4 more defensive wins to become a legend in the minds of Boxing fans, fight fans had better turn to UFC or something. Most fighters now understand that there is a risk to getting hit so they use a lot more defense than what used to be used, and that's just the future of boxing. It is what it it

The commentary was incredibly biased from the outset. The fight was pretty decent. Mayweather put on a clinic.

STFU with all this played-out "disgusting coverage" bullshit. Last week it was ESPN and now it's HBO. This fool cries about anything and everything that doesn't satisfy his narrow worldview. Grow up and deal with it. No one is ever satisfied with how their favorite things are covered. Big fuckin' deal.
This is another example of either Blunt's schizo shit, or another of the multiple owners posting some bullshit lol...

fuck this thread.

boxing is down and will stay down cause it's a super grimey, "behind the scenes," rotten, low down sport.

the hype is to sell tickets.

the bullshit fight is to set up the rematch.

it's all about $$$$, and PROFESSIONALS can fight or NOT fight. get it?

to clean-up boxing, they need to have tournaments for each belt and WINNER TAKE ALL purses. i bet mufuckas would fight their asses off then.

but as long as one fighter is fighting under another fighter's promotions... add-in don king... add-in racist undertones, add-in OBVIOUSLY BIASED commentators... add-in TONS of pre-fight hype and bullshit, and you'll CONTINUE to see boxing go downhill and quick.

boxing is a dirty sport with fixed fights. shit has to stop.

Somebody school me on MMA , What to watch ,who to watch ,when to watch. I think i may crossover.

i think we're due for a mayweather vs mosley matchup. fuck the rematch with DLH.
margurito sucks. if he doesnt fight mosley for a big money fight then at least settle for the best out there.

FJP and Blunt are tripping. That coverage was totally one sided. Even Manny was dissing Floyd. Several times Manny stated that Floyd is just a "good" fighter but not great. I do believe that they are trying to satisfy theyre ppv purchasers though. Face it, 90% of those ppv buys were people of Latin decent. They were simply satisfying their audience regardless of how sickening it was. If you lose the mexican fight fan, ppv boxing is dead.

Trekei, just watch SpikeTV. You'll know everything concerning UFC, although I think the quality and opponents of Pride are better. The guys who actually own UFC recently purchased PrideFC.

i agree they were being totally bias against mayweather and the judge who scored the fight 115-113 de la hoya had to be paid off or completely blind to see that. de la hoya won no more than 3 rounds the whole fight.

Even Floyd gave Oscar four rounds. I scored the same after viewing it four times. 7 to 5 MW favor.
