HBO:The Night of..Official Discussion Thread

I thought the series ended on a perfect note...

someone needs to up the gif of the lawyer

pullin them drugs out her juicy pakistani coochie,

naz is lucky this shit happend in nyc and NOT upstate ny,

he wouldve been fucked with an all white jury....

they should have a season two, I bet it would be even better..

like season 2 of Fargo..... that was one of the best season twos of any drama series fuckin EVER!

I want a second season that follows the jury foreman around - not giving a fuck. Lol

"Hey pastor! We been here 3 hours, church is over. "

"Hell no I can't work the holiday weekend"

"Fuck you mean you are out of Henny wings, you better send Pookie around the corner for another pint Hen-dog, and drop another basket of wings".

The step dad is likely to get the 10 million dollar brownstone though, right? I mean, the daughter is dead, and it looks like he didn't kill her, so he's about to get a $$ come up.

white chick dead
Naz life ruined and now he a fiend
his own mom has doubt about his innoncene
his family lost everything and are paras in the community
Naz brother got kicked of school
the young attorney got fired, got played by Naz and may lose her liscene
Bos is back to where he started
and now the cops are after the real killers but he proably has paper for a good lawyer and not the slap dunk Naz was

Great fucking show. Ended as realistically as you'd imagine. Nas institutionalized and now an addict, the killer still out there, Stone back to business as usual and the Indian babe out of a job. I like that they didn't wrap it up cleanly cuz the Justice System is far from clean.

Sidenote, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the pussy juice on the bench when the lawyer dug out the condom.

I just read the comments from the review......CACs really try their best not to understand our plight.

They understand.
Nobody works harder at keeping things the way they are than white people
When you don't have to do anything from benefit you have enough time and energy to put the effort into keeping things the way they are.

No doubt.....I should have said they try to act like they don't understand our plight. But, you are right, thats why we still struggle with equality.

Good point.

It's interesting that James Gandolfini was originally cast as Stone. I couldn't see him pulling it off as well as John Turturro did.

The biggest take away from this show was how much it changed lives. Especially, Nasir's. Had he gotten bail he would not be a druggy now.

The Indian lawyer... Gyawd damn! I want her in my bedroom looking exactly how she did in court. Hair in a bun and wearing that business skirt. She looks like the type that needs the freak fucked out of her in the worse way. Which explains why she did what she did.

Stone was the unsong hero. Say what you want be he knows his shit.

Cop and prosecutor catching consciences. Now we see how they will continue the story.

Side note:
Bodie had me dying laughing when he was on the stand.
Damn cat truly has nine lives.
During the conclusion of the trial loved how there was little dialogue but the camera captured everyone's facial expression.

The thing about stone is he cared what people thought. He bought in to what they said about him about how he looked etc etc etc
Last night you saw him shed it
Pharmacist was like we got your viagra he was like i don't give a fuck
even when he took his stick out to scratch and the lady looked at him like eww
he looked like oh well

I noticed Gandolfini was an Executive Producer in opening credits.
I didn't know he was suppossed to be Stone.
He woulda been interesting in that role, big belly bent down scratching his feet with chopsticks!

finally watched it~I'm on vacation & didn't have home HBO so I d/l like the old days.
I need a season 2 'cuz there are more questions left unanswered.
-Nas will adjust on the outside but will he rise or spiral downward?
-will he go back to visit Freddy? (prolly not-though he's grateful he has to leave that world behind!
- Box is retired but as we saw he's not letting go. Will he go 0 - 2 with an arrest but no conviction?
-Stone ain't ready for prime time, as his anxiety brings the heeby-jeebys back.
-for all MM did for Nas will he look her up out of obligation, wanting to solmehow Thank & "repay"?
-if they do hook up what will their lives be like? It can go 'art imitates real life' so let him become a rapper & she can go over his contracts as a manager. NasMC ( as performed by RizMC???)

-and we gotta know; WHO DUNNIT?

Man I had to watch it again.

I wonder if Fred only sent out one copy.

He free and his people still bein hoes.

A unicorn

Wasn't the judge the pedo killer on true detective

yeah, now that Turturo has played the role, it's hard for me to see Gandolfini in it too. He was a good actor though, so I'm sure he would have brought something to it and made it his own.

quote:
I loved that it was the financial advisor. I had a feeling it was him after reading a theory. The theory I read online mentions how in episode 2, Stone goes around taking photos in places where Andrea has been in her own personal photos. In two of those photos of her, it shows her sitting next to a man, but more than half of his face is cropped out. When you compare that to the financial advisor it's clearly him. Also, if you pay close attention, the first episode, when Naz and Andrea go upstairs to have sex, there's a hat hanging on the deer head on the wall. Then when Naz wakes up in the kitchen and goes upstairs to say goodbye to Andrea, that hat is gone. So she had a boyfriend. Or someone living there or someone who visited there. And my favorite part of the finale is when Box confronts the financial advisor at the bar and when he leaves he forgets his hat! And Box says "He forgot his hat." Just like he forgot his hat and took it back the night he killed her! Brilliant writing!

It was a very good show with some flaws
All of the actor's did a fine job
I actually found out a couple of things i didnt know about the judicial system
They definitely showed how being incarcerated can change a person maybe not
to the extremes as in the movie Dummy but still effective
This was one of the shows that holds your attention right until the final frame.

i mentioned this way back in the beginning. He actually filmed scenes, but passed away during. So they had to redo all the scenes he was in, with JT instead.

it was the financial adviser.

I understand its his opinion, but its like he forgets it is a televison DRAMA and what good drama doesnt happen with people making

stupid mistakes... its what makes the drama.. and its not that far fetch to believe intelligent educated people doing stupid things..

especially when their hearts are concerned....

I dont know of any movie or televison show or series that didnt have any flaws...

like life, what is perfect?

exactly - people in general are not logical and rarely make logical or intelligent decisions

1. Ending was weak as fuck
2. What the fuck is a limited series
3. Not once was all that blood spatter factored in
4. Maybe the cat killed her
5. Never knew you could meet so many helpful and thoughtful people in Rikers
6. Pakistani lawyer bitch must be half retarded.
7. Clearly if Omar was looking out for the way Naz looked during the trial he woild have told him not to get tattoos and a shaved up
8. Am I the only one who thought Naz was gonna get raped my Omar at the end?

3. Not once was all that blood spatter factored in

Wouldn't that only matter if he was dressed when it happened?

I don't think the defense would have brought it up because then the prosecutor could imply that he washed up before leaving, which wouldn't really look good for him.

I think the only reason people mention this is because they showed Naz sitting in the kitchen with some cloths on, but I don't know much about blood so I don't know if it would still show up on skin after a shower.

it was the financial advisor.
2nd season:
they still have to build the case & prove it in court - no hung juries.
drama shifts from Nas/Stone focus to Box (in retirement) and who ever financial advisor gets to defend and contrast his prison experience to Nas.

and keeping with TV dramas-
-maybe it was step-Dad
-maybe it was Duane Reed
-maybe it was Nas (they'll find a way to explain it somehow) in a flashback to what he doesn't remember.

Yes..but I'm not an expert or anything but I've watched enough ID Channel to know that even if the killer took a shower there would be blood around the drain of the shower. Also they mad the point of him cutting his hand on the knife which would have left his blood on her body.

Watch the BBC original Criminal Law, the ending in that made some things clearer about his guilt or not, but this one just kept it real, no one really wins, Naz should have been a brother representing the Central Park 5.
