I thought the smile was more of a 'fuck you' you can't do nothing about this (including snitching) and that's why nas went back to see the guard to get that short-notice appointment w/ 'omar' and why nas grilled him the whole time walking up them stairs and to dude's cell and why dude look worried...that was nas' response to him smiling and basically saying 'what the fuck you gone do?'

Read thru the comments here. My sis thinks Bodie did it, I feel like the step dad. But these shows, very intelligent writing, they show you who they want you to think did it, then in the end throw you completely off.
Great show, similar to American Crime. Touching on racial stereotypes that no one wants to talk about. But that show is NYC to the core.

I'm wondering if they're setting it up to have the viewers become attached and empathetic towards Nas only to reveal he really did it

Someone was in the crib watching them have sex, probably the stepdad since it was his wife's house and he was living there.
Who knows if it could of been the weird way that the dude that was with Bodie looked at them like maybe he came back and did it.
Nah whoever did it was familiar with that house and/or was invited in.
There wasn't any broken glass or kicked in doors until Nas had to get his keys.
And if you notice it locked behind him which means the door isn't just left open for someone to walk in.
I wouldn't be surprised if the step dad was fucking and killed her out of jealous rage but I doubt it since that seems too easy.
Could be the route they go. If they do they better at least plant some clues or hints along the way that Nas could have done it. If they do some last episode reveal that he was raped and brutalized by a family friend and had suppressed it I'm not gonna be real happy.
I see on the net everyone is speculating about the Limo driver at the Gas station, or the cat that was with Bodie, but what about the sketchy white dudes that got into the car right before the girl did. They was fucked up and on something.

The limo driver and dude with Bodie would be too obvious and lazy writing, I would be pissed if it were one of them.

Could have bounced with a chick at the spot they were at, or maybe he (Bodie) left early while his boy was still there.
I think the guy that was with Bodie did it. I couldn't help but notice how he stood their after "Bodie" walked away and he and Nas locked eyes. That's a classic example of foreshadowing.

That's why I say the drugged out white dudes is more realistic. They were in the immediate vicinity of where ole girl got in the cab and neither of them was a stranger to drugs. One of the guys was super aggressive when Nas asked him to get out the car. If Police hadn't rolled up Nas probably woulda ended up scrapping with them dudes.
Now ole girl jumped in the car seconds after the police gave Nas directions and drove off. So she likely saw the whole interaction between Nas and those guys and still jumped in the cab anyway.
Go back and watch that scene again.
Then again, the skuzzy white dudes and police might just be way to show the viewers how they establish a timeline of events.
