Yeah a skinner Wannstedt but you nailed the comparison. Essentially that dirty, Southern hick look.



The difference between this show and Playmakers was that Playmakers made it a point to focus on the NFL's dirt, like passing a blind eye to drugs, piss tests, and generally being shady.

However, this show probably focuses on the players more than the institution, which makes it easier for the NFL to shallow because they aren't made to look like bad guys. Portraiting the players as reckless doesn't risk the brand. Making the brand look dirty does.

Thats fucked up. The NFL rigs the game, then have the pawns perform in a system where they can't win. The players destroy their bodies and their finances as the owners look at them going "tsk, tsk, tsk".

Real solid first episode. But you can tell how good or boad a show is by its 2nd episode. But that shit was solid. Well made show.

And this dude The Rock man......nobody works harder than him. This cat has been in a few films this year and had time to star in a HBO series too.....I hope this isn't just a one season show but everyone seems to like it.

And that cat that's Denzel son......if you close your eyes you'd think your listening to Denzel. Sounds just like him.

My only gripe with the show is that it's only a half hour, what dumbass made that call? I feel for the writers, the first couple episodes are sink or swim and they've got to flesh out all these "main" characters in that time and still make it look good.

I like the show so far. I have questions about the big dude, why he retired etc etc. Denzel's son's girlfriend, I have questions about that broad too. It also seemed weird last night that the cat with #18 seemed like a rookie but also seemed like he had ZERO respect for Ricky, didn't want to give him the number and didn't seem to want him there

yup i came in here to write the same exact shit. its hard to develop these characters in 30 mins. plus i believe the first season only has 10 episodes. its going to be hard to capture a mass audience like this.

Not to mention it looks like he's heavily considering the idea that scout threw out there. That whole like about being regular, starting a family etc etc sounds more like his woman talking than him She probably hit him with the "I can't take care of the baby on my own, you'll be away a lot" yada yada.

Well, from what I gather(unless I'm tripping) she's a doctor and like I said, that line he gave the scout sounded like regurgitated woman talk "I'm ready for the quiet civilian life, some kids xyz" She's probably thinking of his health and isn't feeling all the time he's on the road anymore


As far as the other cat Vernon and his man Reggie... kid is the typical athlete that made it out the hood, dumb as a bucket of nuts and bolts.
