HBO Ballers all seasons Official discussion thread

Yeah i think that was peter berg...yeah he looks rough but his involvement should be interesting..he's a actor/writer/producer who was involved with the development of "friday night lights"..both the movie and tv show. And directed, produced and hosted the "state of play" documentary series on HBO that dealt with a lot of football stories. So there should be some good insights and authentic realistic nfl situations

Word, then he should bring some validity to the show.

Still don't like him as a coach though

The Rock is believable in the role bc he was an actual baller sidelined by injury.
The Fins coach kinda remind me of John Grudden that kinda tobacco chewing, grungy look.
Show def has my attention. With the prevalence of league nigs getting caught up with worthless hoes and legal trouble in real life, I think this show will be successful in a Law and Order ripped from the headlines type way. Def has my attention.
Hopefully they drop more jewels for real life dudes, like the one where he mentioned having your own legal team we. signing on for anything.

Peter Berg is the shit.

it works..I'm in for the run

who was denzels son the bearded dude or the broke dude???

and yall KNOW the NFL has final say on the show right...its the ONLY reason theyre allowed to use team names and logos..so its gonna be a sanitized version of how the nfl REALLY runs and treats its players..

hahahahahahahah, you must be a dolphins fan. I thought that was a alcoholic version of Dave Wannstedt

 Yeah a skinner Wannstedt but you nailed the comparison. Essentially that dirty, Southern hick look.

The difference between this show and Playmakers was that Playmakers made it a point to focus on the NFL's dirt, like passing a blind eye to drugs, piss tests, and generally being shady.

However, this show probably focuses on the players more than the institution, which makes it easier for the NFL to shallow because they aren't made to look like bad guys. Portraiting the players as reckless doesn't risk the brand. Making the brand look dirty does.

Yeah he is. I think he directed this first episode too. I see they are using actually NFL teams unlike the ESPN show playmakers from years ago. So I don't know how deep a lot of the subject matters will actually go.

True.

But, Pete and Mark Wahlberg will give us some magical shit.
