Has your perspective while watching sports changed as you have aged?

I’m guessing most people will say yes but possibly with different perspectives on why and how. I think what would be most interesting is a no answer—someone 40+ who still feels the same way watching as they did at 14.

"I mean I guess I could watch the Final Four. It's an option I have, right? I don't know, but we going to see. But shout out to Illinois. The merry band of Eastern Europeans getting it done. They look really happy, too. I will say that something that I do think counts and applies when it comes to college basketball and that will not change, even with the money apparently, is the ages by-and-large of the players. Now of course we you know we got some dudes like that dude that Michigan got who apparently is almost a pharmacist at this point. Maybe I'm just reaching that age, but them boys at Illinois when they won that game and they, you know, with the coach and everything, it still looked like what you'd idealistically like for college basketball to look like. And I do think that when you watch these games like up through your 20s and maybe even your early 30s, it doesn't hit the same as it does once you're literally twice as old as the guys who were out there. And now you do really start seeing like the youthful affect of all of this.”

Yes was all sports fans pretty much growing up especially in the 90s..pretty much a human stat sheet.., nba, nfl, mlb, nhl pretty much in that order.. watched ncaa bball, college football sometimes( especially if team was playing), even watched other shit at times cfl, lacrosse on espn 2.. than the millennium came and slowly stopped watching mlb and nhl first( also ncaa).. than nba watching declined… nfl only thing kept watching and probably started watching even more once this whole streaming thing went on… today completely pretty much no nba( still a bulls fan forever), actually started paying a lil attention to mlb( cause of sports betting and quietly made the most bread off it), still watch nfl thanks to streaming and betting… perspective definitely has changed.. for sports betting reasons wish I knew more about nba.. probably would’ve still been watching or paying more attention if sports bett Started in the 90s/ early 2000s

Is there a reason behind these changes?

I used to be a huge sports fan and still like watching it, but today I look at sports as a way to keep the masses preoccupied and disinterested in the real issues of the world, a diversion that keeps us in mindless opinionated arguments that are fueled by emotional triggers. And to me, this type of thinking spills over into the real world, where people root for sides, becoming a fan of a country or a person rather than addressing the issues with real facts and data. This is why the word fan is derived from the term fanaticale, which literally means: filled with excessive and single-minded zeal.

Social life , running around a lot, made me definitely decrease watching baseball during summer and even nice days in spring.. damn near 4-6 months gonna be missed off that alone… basketball started to become wacker to me as far as viewing pleasure especially closer to 2010, also once again social life, runningaround getting money stopped me from sitting watching as many games.. nfl started watching more due to more games being on( 90s nfl viewing was limited), than once these free sports streaming sites kicked in was able to see any game I wanted( which was a whole diffent ballgame).. football is also during the colder months when do less running around and also most games is played on one day so I can give my attention to it

Entertainment period could easily be looked at as preoccupying humans and disinterested in the real world.. big difference is entertainment is on 24/7.. sports is not.. limited to certain times of the day, only for a few seasons in each sports.. depending on the sport not even on every single day.. the biggest thing I love to point out is sports is pretty much the only piece of entertainment that you can actually generate money on for having knowledge of the genre.. many people will brag about tv series , tell you a billion things on the subject, but ask them have they ever made a single dollar off of knowing about the wire, the answer will be no... I can say I made money guessing what teams were gonna have a certain amount of wins by the end of the season off of sports knowledge

This is why I say I am a fan of a team, not a fanatic!

That’s the primary reason I’ve lost interest, along with all the political commentary from the commentators behind the scenes.
