Has LeBron Passed Kobe?

LeBron James has already surpassed Kobe Bryant

Without LeBron making the Finals, neither would be mentioned. If it were Golden State vs Atlanta there would be no need to mention either. Jordan and Kobe fans have to piggyback of Brons success and accomplishments

do those teams have a player thats on the caliber of Jordan, Kobe or Lebron? No. So why would Jordan or Kobe be mentioned during an ATL v. GS finals? Who is there to compare? Al Hortford? Klay Thompson? I don't understand this example you gave. You only bumped this thread because Lebron is in the finals, right? If he weren't, would there be a bump?

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant will never appear in an NBA Finals again. Them and their fans have to live vicariously thru LeBron.

Kobe is a great player no doubt, but goats must have at least 3 MVP's at least show that he can dominate his era...
The thing about Kobe is that he played in between Jordan and LeBron so he should have feasted with the MVP especially playing on good teams every single year..

:lol::lol::lol::lol:
i can always count on you to say some funny shit. Now they have to have at least 3 huh? So shaq is out of the discussion. Tim Duncan.

lets get back to this statement you made. care to discuss?

LeBron has already surpassed the most famous sidekick in NBA history.

1 MVP (stolen from Chris Paul)
1 FMVP (stolen from Pau Gasol)

But LeBron isn't better?

:smh:

you didn't mention the MVPs Steve Nash stole from him

Man! Like i stated before....you got extra emotional when he went back to the Cavs a few months ago and dedicated some ignorant slavery sig to him....now you all over his nuts again.

Youre beyond fandom at this point...i just think youre on some weirdo shit.

I love MJ....but i never went as hard for him like you go for LBJ. But then again.....theres no need to post much about someone whos already accomplished greatness. LBJ stil tryna get there.......

Amazing how people will say teams-- not players-- win championships one minute (when titles are a losing argument) and "a guy won 30-something games one year" the next. Never mind that 30-something wins makes the playoffs most time in the piss poor east but a modicum of consistency demands that if you fault a guy for team failures, you credit him for team success. In which case, five is more than two and goodnight, thanks for playing.

How can you "steal" mvps from a guy who won 30something games one year, and barely played 500 ball the other?

Nash stole a MVP from Shaq.

when you drop 81 points in a game you're the league MVP. when you drop 62 against the mavs in three quarters you're the MVP. when you average 35 a game you're the MVP. Kobe was fucking robbed. the shit he did that year was legendary

yeah he didn't say shit all year until he realized they were going to make a deep playoff run now he's back on that inkozy shit. fucking weirdos on here man

You cant even admit he lost. Just the mention of it you're crushed.

Jordan & Kobe in Inkosi's shadow and have been the last 5 years. Yall got make believe and hypotheticals to imagine about while LeBron's actually out there playing.

Winning 34 games on a lottery team, and 44 on a 8th seed squad is "legendary"? You niggas are insane.:smh::lol:

Still waiting on them 10 players you said were better than Bron champ.

The fact that sports reporters and yourself cant have a conversation about Kobes or Lebron accomplishments WITHOUT includings MJ's name in the conversation proves how great Mike was and still is.

Lebron will be a name to remember once he retires. But even after LBJ retires we'll still be hearing conversations about whos gonna be Jordans predecessor.

I'll reply after the finals. if he wins with that team...he gets bumped up a few spots. Like #25 or something.

Dude been a Kobe fanboy. The excuse will be "the tough ass Western Conference" where Kobe ran into defensive powerhouse D'Antoni's Suns.

Thank you,

Kobe beat Dallas by his fucking self. How do you outscore the entire other team? This is the same team that was up 2-0 on the warmth before the refs started impersonating Too $hort and began plan "Blow the Whistle"

Check out the Box score of the Mamba shitting on Dallas with a WNBA team around him

:smh::smh:

Kobe comes off like more of a stat hoe... If you notice LeBrons and Jordans biggest games they were actually in games that matter, Kobe on the other hand production reduces the bigger the games get, but let him play a team like the Raptors in a lost season where they have no shot of winning, then Kobe tunrs to beast mode.. While LeBron and Jordan are the direct opposite, when they play scrubs they usually coast..

Kobe's top games ever...

5) March 28, 2003 | Lakers vs. Wizards | Key Stats: 55 points (15-for-29 FG, 9-for-13 3PT FGA)
• Box Score
Speaking of Jordan, Bryant had his way with the Washington-version of MJ at the Staples Center in 2003. An amazing 42 of Bryant's 55 points came in the first half. While Jordan is generally viewed as a superior player to Bryant, the student bested the teacher in MJ's final season in the NBA.
4) February 2, 2009 | Lakers vs. Knicks | Key Stats: 61 points (19-for-31 FG, 20-for-20 FTA)
• Box Score
Ho, hum, here comes the run of 60-plus point games from Bryant. He and Pau Gasol combined for a modest 92 of the Lakers' 126 points against the Knicks in 2009.
Kobe sunk all 20 of his free throws for the 38-9 Lakers on that February night. At the time, he broke the record for most points ever in a game at Madison Square Garden, topping the likes of Bernard King and Michael Jordan. The record would later be broken by Carmelo Anthony in 2014.
3) March 16, 2007 | Lakers vs. Trail Blazers | Key Stats: 65 points (23-for-39 FG), seven rebounds, three steals
• Box Score
When a 65-point effort clocks in as the third best game of your NBA career, chances are you're doing something right. 2007 was right in the midst of the do-it-all Kobe years, considering the rest of his starting lineup consisted of Sasha Vujajic, Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown and Smush Parker.
So naturally, Bryant hoisted up 39 field goal attempts and hoped for the best against Portland. The Lakers were coming off a seven-game losing streak at the time, and The Mamba refused to be denied against Zach Randolph, Brandon Roy and the Trail Blazers. He finished with a whopping 33 points in the fourth quarter and overtime combined, and his 65 for the night were the second best total of his outstanding career.
2) December 20, 2005 | Lakers vs. Mavericks | Key Stats: 62 points (18-for-31 FG), eight rebounds, 32 minutes
• Box Score
No, that is not a typo. Kobe almost averaged two points per minute in a 2005 tilt against the Mavericks. Just for fun, let's say Kobe happened to play 40 minutes that night. By the rate at which he was scoring, Bryant could have tacked on 15 extra points to his total, giving him 77 on the evening.
Phil Jackson, how could you pull this guy after three quarters? Well, the Lakers were well in control heading into the fourth, and perhaps the Zen Master was frustrated that Bryant did not record a single assist to go along with his 62 points. Bryant's great night could have been a different level of extraordinary had he played his normal minutes load.
1) January 22, 2006 | Lakers vs. Raptors | Key Stats: 81 points (28-for-46 FGA), six rebounds and three steals

MJ and LeBrons biggest games were mostly playoffs games...

Another difference between Kobe and LeBron and Jordan, is that in Jordan last game vs Kobe, dude went out of his way to score 50 points.. No way would LeBron try to embarrass Kobe in his last game vs him, nor would Jordan go out his way vs someone like Magic last game..
Last game LeBron played Kobe, LeBron was joking with him and went out his way to down play any attempts at overshadowing him, instead he gave respect to Kobe and even thought the Cavs won the game clearly was more about the two superstars enjoying each other on the same court for what may be one of the last times..
If only Kobe showed that much class with Jordan..:smh:

Kobe goes all out and scores 50pts vs Jordan who is 14 years older..:smh: And expects daps for that!!:smh:

While LeBron goes easy on a older Kobe even though James is only 6 years younger..

And Jordan goes easy on a Older Magic even though Magic is only 3 years older..

Fuck is that pussy shit about????

Killer instinct. No mercy, zero fucks given.

Sure Shaq snd Duncan are sll time greats, like Kobe, but they not fucking with Magic, Jordan, Bird, Wilt and Russell.

Man you say some stupid shit. You just said you need to have at least 3 MVP to be considered GOAT. I don't care if they fucking with the others. That's not what I'm asking you. Duncan and Shaq do not have 3, so why do they get a pass. I'm going to go stand at the other end of that goal post and wait for your bull shit response.

Stop posting. Basketball is a competition. He was trying to embarrass Jordan? Where do you get this stuff from. Stop with the speculation. You sound like a gossip site. If I were to play this game with you, I could mention how Lebron stared down Jordan a couple of years ago. But since he said he wasn't, it's not true right? Stop with the rumors, opinions and speculation.

If LeBron went sll out like he is doing vs the Warriors, he could have netted 60 vs the weak ass Lakers last game, but that would be classless. For Kobe to have an all time top five game vs an older Jordan playing in his last season, shows how much you or Kobe knows about class.

If you were able to read you will see they don't get a pass, they are all time greats top 20 players, like Kobe, but if you want to make it in that top five you have to have dominated your era for at least three years, that's where the three mvps come in.. Magic, Bird, Russell, Wilt and now LeBron.
Its not like Kobe played in the era of Magic, Jordan and Bird in ther primes, the biggest comp Kobe had was Shaq then a young LeBron, Shaq only won one also but LeBron tore his ass up and had no problem winning multiple MVP during the same era Kobe was in his prime..

BUMP!

Tonight LeBron James breaks Rick Barry's 40 year old NBA Finals record and scores 123 points thru the first 3 Finals games. Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant have never scored that many points thru the first 3 games of a Finals. That kind of production and dominance was not in them. And you add in LeBron's triple double last game and near triple double this game, something those guys have never achieved in an NBA Finals, LeBron is in a class of his own.

Kobe scored 40 points ONCE in his 37 NBA Finals games, LeBron has done it twice this Finals, matching his output tonight. LeBron James is a better scorer & player than Kobe Bryant. Kobe got his first Finals MVP in his 5th Finals trip. LeBron has a chance to get his 3rd in his 6th Finals trip.

Like I said if you look at LeBrons greatest games, they are all playoffs games... Its a damn shame that all of Kobe's top games are mostly vs scrubs in the regular season... Including getting 50 vs a Jordan who is 13 years older, during his last season..:smh:
But if LeBron stays healthy its going to be amazing seeing how many records he's going to smash..

Man..its hard to even consider Kobe in these discussions...IMO.

Growing up the goat discussion always revolved around not only individual talent but the ability to make your teammates better. Jordan had that knock against him for years.

I'm not convinced that Kobe makes his team better at all..in fact you can make a case that he hurts his team with his "hero" ball late in games..(and early in games...). Its funny that Lebron actually gets knocked for making the intelligent basketball plays in the crunch and for not gunning like Kobe.

Anyway...IMO the discussion is between Jordan, LBJ and Magic..(assuming LBJ wins these finals). Its hard to compare these guys to the great big men like Kareem and Wilt though.
