Man..its hard to even consider Kobe in these discussions...IMO.

Growing up the goat discussion always revolved around not only individual talent but the ability to make your teammates better. Jordan had that knock against him for years.

I'm not convinced that Kobe makes his team better at all..in fact you can make a case that he hurts his team with his "hero" ball late in games..(and early in games...). Its funny that Lebron actually gets knocked for making the intelligent basketball plays in the crunch and for not gunning like Kobe.

Anyway...IMO the discussion is between Jordan, LBJ and Magic..(assuming LBJ wins these finals). Its hard to compare these guys to the great big men like Kareem and Wilt though.

I agree with you with that Magic remark... Plus who out there can honestly say that a player like Durant wouldn't have won just as many championships, if not more, playing on those Lakers teams..

Jordan did against one of the worst defensive teams in history. The '93 Suns who simply tried to outscore opponents. Their front court consisted of Richard Dumas (6'7), Charles Barkley (6'5) and Mark West (6'10). Off the bench they gave big minutes to fat slob Oliver Miller (6'7) as backup center, and Tom Chambers (6'10) soft ass. Kosi would average 50 against them. Keep In mind he's giving you 12 boards and 8 assists a game too, with no Pippen out there helping him.

Man..if Lebron was on those Lakers team I honestly believe he would have 7. The 5 Kobe has already, and the one's they lost to the pistons and Celtics. He may have even picked up a miscellaneous ring along the way....

At this point, they are going full white trash, Republican, on us, "fuck what you heard, fuck what think, fuck all yah stats, logic, long post with ya'll big ol words that nobody wants to read, all I's ah know is dat Kobe's my guy, and that's all I fonna say about the situation "…

If you were able to read you will see they don't get a pass, they are all time greats top 20 players, like Kobe, but if you want to make it in that top five you have to have dominated your era for at least three years, that's where the three mvps come in.. Magic, Bird, Russell, Wilt and now LeBron.
Its not like Kobe played in the era of Magic, Jordan and Bird in ther primes, the biggest comp Kobe had was Shaq then a young LeBron, Shaq only won one also but LeBron tore his ass up and had no problem winning multiple MVP during the same era Kobe was in his prime..

You stay back peddling. First it was just Goats but you need 3 MVPs for that status. Then when I mentioned Duncan and Shaq, you let it slide, now it's top five and they have to dominate an era. What era is Lebron dominating? If I recall correctly, he lost to both the spurs and mavs. That's not domination. Kobe lost to Detroit and Boston. He didn't dominate either. Neither one of them did. Make up your mind.

Lol, man you are slurping and burping. Do you consider yourself a "Stan"?

LeBron has dominated the last 12 years and has the MVPs to back it up, just like everyone else on the top five list..

Dude gets teams dominated with players, you don't get MVPs for being on the best team or the most dominating one. You get MVPs for being the best for a year, get at least 3 you are dominating an era..

4 mvps in 12 years?
2 rings in 12 years?
That's domination? He didn't even dominate 50% of the time.

A Stan is a fan that can't back his jocking with actual stats or reasoning.. They are stuck saying the same dumb shit over and over again. The ones who actually have the stats and logic are the ones schooling the Stans..

Nobody wins MVPs half of the time, for various reasons but if you can't win at least three, then your not eligible for that top five talk.

Wow. I guess that settles it then. BTW, who put this standard in stone?
Larry Bird has 3. Is he in the top five?

I'm starting to think something is wing with you. Half the stuff you say, makes no sense. Especially your last response.

Then how the fuck can it be considered domination?
Look at the top three competition LeBron has had yo his throne, Kobe, Durant and Rose and tell me he hasn't personally destroyed each an every one of them…

If you can't even acknowledge Lebron's dominance then you have entered a very dangerous level if Stanilization and should seek help immediately.

See what I mean about dumb shit. Now you saying that since Lebron had a better record against these players, that means he's dominating. But then you say his MVPs are a sign that he is dominating. How does one person destroy a player that's not guarding him, or that he is not guarding. What about Duncan and Dirk? Why didn't he destroy them?

But you can't even explain his dominance. You keep changing the meaning.
Domination -the exercise of control or influence over someone or something, or the state of being so controlled.

He did this for 12 years?

He is great. But the greatest, no.

No I am saying that him dominating them is indicative of his dominance and the MVPs is his proof, while Kobe lacks both..

Yep

How can you "steal" mvps from a guy who won 30something games one year, and barely played 500 ball the other?

Nash stole a MVP from Shaq.

Exactly

None of those teams were good enough for Kobe to win no damn MVP

You not winning MVP if your teams aren't among the best in the league that year

Period

Nor do you deserve to

Mark West, Oliver Miller, Tom Chambers, Barkley. LeBron would've averaged 50 against them, all they did was try to outscore people and didnt play a lick of defense. Western Conference Basketball. MJ wouldve lost last night if JR Smith & Delly were his go to guys.

Kobe couldn't even beat the Pistons team when he had Malone, Payton, Shaq, Fisher, one of the best Coaches ever, Rick Fox and Horace Grant... One of the best centers in his prime, one of the best PF, one of the best defensive guards, and they still lost to the same team a young LeBron beat single handed.... Explain that Lucy!!!

I ain't Lucy nigga.

Snaq had already checked out on the Lakers and was nowhere near his prime. Fuck outta here. Malone & GP were old. 2004 Horace Grant? Really? Nonetheless, the Lakers did not show up for that Finals. Is that all Kobe's fault though?

Kobe has two finals MVP but should have only one... That last series Gasol and Bynum bailed his ass time after time, to the point we here was joiking how the Lakers was playing volleyball, camping under the basket and tipping it in every time he missed..
If you guys are going to bitch and moan about Nash stealing the MVP over Kobe, then you guys are going to have to first admit that in four of the five rings he wasn't even the best player in the finals..

How about the West Finals and the rest of the playoffs those years? Let me guess, Kobe sucked during those too right? Ask Gasol & Bynum who the Lakers MVP was those years.

So smack dab in the middle of his prime he was either missing the playoffs are barely making them

But I'm supposed to think he can lead a scrap heap team to the finals like Lebron did these playoffs?

Or in 2007?

This is a never ending debate but I really think Lebron has passed Kobe up

LeBron would not be able to lead Kwame Brown, Chucky Atkins, and Smush Parker to the Finals out of the West either. Come on.

Forget the finals. How many times did Kobe get eliminated in the first round or not make the playoffs entirely? You also forget Lebron played with bums for his entire career until he went to Miami. Think about it, the best player he played with in Cleveland was Mo Williams fucking Mo Williams!

Shaq won a ring right after so did Payton.

Who was Kobe playing with in the mid 2000s? Lamar Odom? Ok. Good player. D. Fish? Again, OK. Good tough player, though undersized. Who else????? And we're talking about the West with Mavs, Spurs, Suns.... Come on. By the way Kobe's Lakers damn near pulled off the upset of the century and beat those loaded ass fucking Suns in the mid 2000s. Tim Thomas just went off. Nothing you can do when a 6'10 nigga goes off from three point land.

I am a Lakers fan and I am biased. I admit that. LeBron is a great player. Where he ranks all time I just am not sure yet. He is also very intelligent and a great businessman, but that doesn't get you on the Mt. Rushmore of Bball in my opinion. Kareem, Jordan & Magic are there. Fourth spot is debatable.....
