Instead of memorial day..the fourth of July..labor day..should we celebrate and bbq on that day instead..my point is..taking ourselves away from their tradition..and not only bbq but to make juneteenth grow bigger and become more meaningful..because of all that's going on now..they are having juneteenth rallies across the nation..I mean its being recognized..more so by the nation..I mean..it feels like things could change..imo..these are important times we are living in..we are witnessing some like never before..and I ain't trying to hype no bull because we still need to stay tuned to what will happen next..but black people are taking a stand(stance?)..I remember Jay-Z saying on one of his songs..strike while the iron is hot..or some shit like that haha..but seriously...

these immigrants have so much disdain and contempt for us but if it wasn’t for our ancestors they wouldn’t even be able to get here outside of being a mail order bride or being trafficked into some subservient position such as being a maid or landscaper for cheap labor.

They believe the whites are why they are here and not us. It is the whites who they interview with during naturalization, not us. I was talking with my homies last night and he did mention something near November or December..he wasn't sure so I guess that would be December 31..we was talking about..if we build it up..it will eventually grow and be recognized..we can celebrate our own holidays..what better time than now..btw..juneteenth was like I've never seen in L.A..I could get use to this..a gang of black folk and nobody tripping..I saw a lot if familiar faces..Sun shines extra bright when we unite...

Milwaukee's always had one of the largest celebrations of Juneteenth in the country.

Juneteenth marks the DAY that the LAST slaves got word of our freedom, nearly two years after the proclamation. It is an observance of that day.
