I asked because I just purchased a Tikka T3X Laminated in .270 caliber.
It came down to a 30-06 or a 308. I chose the 270 because there's less recoil, and I can find bullets no matter where I happen to be on the planet.
I added a Leupold 2.5x8 scope on it with aircraft grade aluminum scope rings. I also added a 20 MOA canted picatinny rail mount.
I bought it to hunt deer, hogs and goats.
