That's what I like about good writing. So many movies follow tropes and Just Go With It, they don't question it, they just say this is expected so this is what I'm doing. It's the Staples Easy Button.
So many movies you don't even have to see the end. You know what's going to happen.
Great writing says, "I see your trope and I know what you're expecting, but I'm not going to give you that shit. I could, but I won't."
I'm exploring shit like that in my own writing.
A wife finds out about her husband cheating. She thinks about blowing the fuck up, destroy her family life but then she says, "No. I'm going to get even. Revenge Cheating. I'm about to get my swerve on."
Then she ends up getting into an affair and realizes how easy that shit can happen. She realizes how tempting that shit is to continue - how sweet that little granule sugar is on your tongue, and how it makes you want more.
Soon you're doing a little something strange anytime you can find the time.
This chick buys some groceries, put them in her trunk, takes it to her side piece at work the following day, puts it in his car so that the following day she has an excuse to skate out, go "grocery shopping" and get her back blown out.
And now she feels something different toward her husband. Empathy. She understands...but will he?
Look for The Naughty Nurse Chronicles Volume I. Coming to a store near you, and/or Amazon. I'm going to voice the audiobook myself
