It came out around the same time. OnTV was Ch 44 and Spectravision was Ch 66. If you had an old black and white with an antenna, you could unscramble the signal and see most of the movie.

Dude, my Dad had a '72 Duece & a quarter but decided to pick up a two seater Triumph TR-6 (which I know NOW was his "mid-life crisis buy", when the Buick got rear-ended & was in the shop, Dad, Mom & I used to roll in the TR-6, I VIVIDLY remember taking a trip to Kings Plaza on the Belt Parkway riding on the rear deck of that two-seater!

Mine was so old, it was BEFORE they added the handbrake, you stopped by holding the front wheel and skidding, which of course wore down the front wheel, my Dad had to order a new one and replace it, I wore a hole in the original one, by the time it came the new ones with the handbrake had hit the streets!
