What they're doing is setting up for Batman to officially enter the series. Right now you have a city that's totally corrupt and a police department that's as useless as Trump. Gordon can't do it all and Alfred has told Bruce its time. So expect the Cape Crusader to appear maybe this week.
This is only the 2nd TV series I've ever watched and stayed with ever. I usually lose interest but this show is working for me.

Different strokes I guess. I found Black Lightning weak, stopped watching after the 2nd episode. Plus his uniform seemed cartoonish.
Arrow should've been canned 2 years ago. Same old fight scenes week after week. If even grown tired of the Flash but I have managed to stat with it. Might be Candice.

Showrunners been said from jump that you will NOT see any form of the Bat-suit at all in this series..maybe like a faint shadow or something and that's it(in the series finale most likely)
Speaking of which i still wonder how they will wrap this all up..maybe in the final scene theyll do another time jump where Bruce is now an adult,and he is seen watching the news then he sees a report saying"..in other news,a meteor has crashed in Kansas just outside the town of Smallville.." or something,then him and Alfred are talking and the final shot of the series is of him looking out of the window at the Batsignal
I believe your right. This this guy playing the role of Bruce Wayne could never pull off being Batman, that's first. I think we can all agree with that. His frame just and youth won't sell it.
I'm anticipating a new Batman series spinning off this series. This series seems to be more focused upon the villains and (maybe) Batman's development and how they all came to be. So IMO opinion the groundwork has already been set. Fox already gave Bruce a kevlar suit.
So I'm thinking its just a matter of time. Once you see Bruce discover the basement/cave under mansion (probably a season closer). We'll know its just a matter of when. I don't expect them to wrap this series up. So a time jump will allow them to recreate older characters.
