the rules that the players agreed to state that you are not allowed to use any communications devices 90 minutes prior to the game all the way through the conclusion of the game. no phone calls no social media no nothing... how is he making it up???

this shit has been in place since joe horn pulled the phone from under the padding and i think it was before godell took over, the social media part was added back in 09 under goodell's watch.

if the shit was written somewhere and agreed apon the PA would have been on this case before it even had a chance to hit the web or print media.

still, there are exceptions to rules and rules are not necessarily meant to be followed in every case. if a company has a policy of no cell phone use during work, and I get a call from my sister telling me about a death in the intermediate family, I would like to see the company try to fire me.

If its an offense that can result in termination then they can fire you. During new hire orientation you sign off on receiving an employee handbook. If that handbook says you can be terminated, take your cell phone, have your conversations outside, and ask your family to employ you.

The reason for this rule is gambling. What if players become hemmed up with bookies and are calling them with inside info...and say "Oh...I was just calling my wife".
