Whatever happened to the man beast that got the whole NFL defensive line shook last year?
What happened? A few things:
1- No one tries to tackle him up high anymore. He's being tripped a lot with ankle tackles.
2- There's a whole season's worth of tape that teams around the league can consult, hence the revised game plans now funnel him East/West, instead of North/South, effectively limiting his speed.
3- Now that he's being hit low on a regular basis, his inability to avoid tacklers has been exposed. Anybody remember Christian Okoye, the Nigerian Nightmare from the KC Chiefs? When cats stopped hitting him high, he was no longer dangerous.
Luckily, we kept Ahmad Bradshaw, who is as strong as an ox, has a low center of gravity, AND has the moves to get himself in the open field. (he breaks tackles, too)
My guess is that Brandon's strength will allow him to break free more often as the season and DBs wear on.....
I hope.
Very true. One thing about the Giants is that they bring in good RBs that no one knows about til too late. They're already working on bringing the 3rd RB up to speed to make him him effective enough to renew their 3 prong attack like they did last year.Whatever happened to the man beast that got the whole NFL defensive line shook last year?

dude is 6' 4". and he's always ran real upright but that didn't stop him last year. it looks like there is something wrong with his legs cause he keeps tippy-toeing instead of trucking like he did last season. he's not getting that drive which is evident by the Giant's red zone woes this season. He's running to high up instead of lowering his shoulders more. It's more difficult for him since he's taller than your average HB but he needs to adjust his game cuz the lineman & DBs sure as hell have. I haven't seen him really truck anyone since he bulldozed over Brian Urlacher in the preseason.
Not sure but I thinking real hard about trading his ass on my Fantasy team.
Yeah most people questioning/cursing his yarddage are doing it for fantasy league reasonsif he keeps up those numbers he will have over 1000 yards again at that pace
the problem is the lack of tds for fantasy reasons I guess![]()
The Giants are 5-0 which is all the matters

I know how you feel. I didn't do fantasy football this year but I'll be damn if I pick somebody up in fantasy basketball & they reward me by averaging 6pts, 2 assts & 10 turnovers per game. The trade/release button will never get pressed faster.dude is averaging 71 yards a game, that will be 1136 yards over 16 games
dude just aint gettin in the endzone and its pissing off his fantasy owners, and rightfully so![]()

Dude is averaging 3.6 yards a game, has the most rushing attempts than Ahmad Bradshaw, and has only one TD so far.
What is going on with Jacobs?????????
WEEK ONE VS THE DEADSKINS (STATS 16ATT/46YDS/2.9AVG./0TDS)
WEEK TWO VS COWBOYS (STATS 16ATT/58YDS/3.6AVG/0TDS)
WEEK THREE VS BUCS (STATS 26ATT/92YDS/3.5AVG/1TDS)
WEEK FOUR VS CHIEFS (STATS 21ATT/92YDS/4.4AVG/0TDS)
WEEK FIVE VS RAIDERS (STATS 21ATT/67YDS/3.2AVG/0TDS)
Key FACT:
Giants are ranked 29th in the league in red zone offense. They are only better than the Browns, Bills and Rams. Part of that is in due to Jacobs. Hasn't hurt them yet since they're 5-0 but its why the Cowboys had 5 turnovers and had the lead within 2 minutes left of the game. Giants left a lot of points on that board.
You saying Jacobs ain't running himself down doing all that juking and shit? He's hurting himself more. All cats doing is getting low and he's giving them time to do it juking.
signing a big deal don't mean shit in the NFL since you can get cut at anytime. you're guaranteed upfront money and that's it. you have to continually play for you check. this ain't MLB or the NBA where you can cost after scoring big money.
EXACTLY!
Jacobs is punishing straight ahead runner that's runniong sideways!
He's part to blame for it but the play-calling is to blame as well.
I saw that they were doing this last year as well only not as much.
Jacobs should run in between the tackles most of the time and outside a little just to keep defences honest.
Having a 265lb running back run sweeps all the time gives defences time to cut him running sideways.
